REFRIGERATOR AND DOOR LOCK FOR REFRIGERATOR
A refrigerator has a door lock. The refrigerator further includes a main body having a storage compartment, a first door, and a second door. The first door is disposed in front of the main body to open or close the storage compartment, and the first door has an opening. The second door is configured to open or close the opening from a front of the first door. The refrigerator includes the door lock configured to lock the two doors. The door lock includes a hook member mounted to one of the first and second doors, and a locking unit mounted to the other one of the first and second doors to restrain or release the hook member. The refrigerator has an anti-unlocking device, the anti-unlocking device is triggered when the first door hits the main body due to being closed, to prevent the locking unit from releasing the hook member.
DAMPENER FOR AN EXIT DEVICE
A dampener for an exit device may be disposed between a portion of an exit device actuator and an exit device chassis so that the dampener dampens vibrations to reduce noise of the exit device and/or inhibit unintentional movement of the actuator to an actuated position. The dampener may be composed at least partially of a viscoelastic material.
Quiet latch for a locking device
A locking device for a door located at a door frame having a door strike. The locking device includes an actuator having a neutral position and a displaced position, and a latchbolt assembly having an extended position configured to engage the door strike, and a retracted position configured to move past the door strike. The latchbolt assembly includes a latchbolt link configured to move the latchbolt in response to movement of the actuator. A first dampening device is disposed adjacent to the latchbolt link, with the dampening device resiliently engaging the latchbolt link as the latchbolt link moves from the retracted position to the extended position. The first dampening device limits movement of the latchbolt link. A second dampening device is configured to restrain movement of the latchbolt during movement from the retracted position to the extended position.
Damped closure assembly for a microwave oven
A damped closure assembly for a microwave oven includes a catch element mounted to a cabinet of the microwave oven. A striker defined on a door of the microwave oven engages the catch element which is rotatable between an open position and a closed position. A spring mechanism and a damping element are operably coupled to the catch element to slowly urge the catch element and the door toward the closed position to prevent slamming, loud noises, and potential wear on one or more components of the microwave oven when the door is closed.
DOOR SILENCING MECHANISM SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
A door silencing mechanism and methods to eliminate latch noise associated with a door latch having a spring latch bolt and a bolt housing are described. This mechanism and methods can include an actuator having a first end and a second end and moveable between a first position and a second position. This mechanism can also include a device coupled to the first end of the actuator to maintain the spring latch bolt within a bolt housing using the second end of the actuator when the device holds the actuator in the first position and to release the spring latch bolt from within the bolt housing by moving the second end of the actuator in response to the actuator moving to the second position in response to contact with a doorjamb.
Door latch with delayed return mechanism
A delayed return mechanism, such as for a door latch, including a housing having a hole with an axis, a cavity in the housing at least partially filled with a fluid media, a hub disposed in the cavity including a spindle hole coaxial with the hole in the housing including teeth within the spindle hole to engage a spindle, the hub being rotatable about the axis and having a fin extending radially outward in the cavity, and a channel through which the fluid media passes during rotation of the hub to control flow of the fluid media about the cavity.
STRUCTURING FOR CUSHIONING DEADBOLT AND/OR LATCH AT DOOR FRAME
A deadbolt cushioning system includes: a deadbolt cushioning structure attached to a door frame so that when a door with a fully extended deadbolt closes from a wide open position toward a closed position the extended deadbolt impacts the deadbolt cushioning structure. The deadbolt cushioning structure for preventing the extended deadbolt from impacting the door frame and for preventing the extended deadbolt from impacting a strike plate attached to the door frame. The deadbolt cushioning structure may include at least first and second telescoping housings with a biasing structure (e.g., foam and/or spring) provided therebetween. When the deadbolt impacts the deadbolt cushioning structure the biasing structure compresses and the second housing slides relative to the first structure and moves toward the face of the door frame to which the first housing is affixed.
VARIABLE SPRING RATE CHASSIS
An apparatus including a chassis assembly having a housing, a spindle rotatably mounted to the housing, a spring collar rotatably mourned to the housing, a first biasing element rotationally urging the spindle toward a spindle home position, and a second biasing element rotationally urging the spring collar toward a spring collar home position. The apparatus may further include a handle mounted on the chassis such that the chassis biases the handle to a handle home position with a return torque. The handle is engaged with the spindle such that the first biasing element contributes to the return torque. In certain embodiments, the handle may further be engaged with the spring collar such that the second biasing element contributes to the return torque.
PORTABLE DOOR LOCK
A door locking device having a locking bar with a first section and a second section pivotally connected to the first section and, the second section being provided with a protrusion. There is also provided a housing having a first end comprising a face and a recess therein. The first section of the locking bar is received and retained, within the recess of the housing, and the pivotal connection is orientated with an axis of rotation that is non-parallel with the longitudinal axis of the locking bar.
Device and Process to Dampen Vibration in Multi-Rod Configurations
A hold open rod includes an inner member; an outer member configured to have the inner member slide in and out of the outer member; and a noncircular dampening member arranged on the inner member. The noncircular dampening member being configured to dampen movement of at least one of the following: the inner member and the outer member.
