LATCHBOLT DAMPING MODULE
20200011100 · 2020-01-09 ·

An exemplary damper module is configured for use with a latchbolt assembly, and generally includes a mounting bracket, a first slowing mechanism, and a second slowing mechanism. The latchbolt assembly generally includes a drive member, a latchbolt, and a retractor connected between the drive member and the latchbolt. Each of the slowing mechanisms is independently operable to slow the extension speed of the latchbolt. The first slowing mechanism includes a rack gear and a rotary damper including a pinion gear. The rack gear is configured to be mounted to the drive member, and the rotary damper is mounted to the mounting bracket. The second slowing mechanism includes a slowing arm and a biasing member engaged with the slowing arm. The slowing arm is movably mounted to the mounting bracket and is configured to engage the retractor.

Cushioned carabiner clip

The present invention relates to an improved carabiner system, including an impact-dampening cushion around the external surface of the frame for cushioning damage during a fall or collision and to reduce sound from loose or swinging carabiner collisions. Additional surface routing and through holes provide improved register between the carabiner frame and the over-molded cushion layer.

DELAY LATCH FOR A DOOR
20240102326 · 2024-03-28 · ·

Provided is a latch assembly for a door. The latch assembly includes a housing defining a cavity, a handle movable relative to the housing, a latch disposed in the cavity, the latch having bolt movable between a locked and an unlocked position and a damping mechanism for delaying movement of the latch, wherein the handle is biased in a first position abutting the bolt to hold the bolt in the locked position, and the handle is movable to a second position away from the bolt allowing for movement of the bolt to the unlocked position.

MOTOR VEHICLE LATCH, IN PARTICULAR MOTOR VEHICLE BACKREST LATCH
20240059197 · 2024-02-22 ·

A motor vehicle latch, in particular a motor vehicle backrest latch, which is equipped with a locking mechanism consisting substantially of a catch and a pawl. A latch housing having a recess is also implemented. In addition, a damping means at the end side of the recess, a latch holder entering the recess in the direction of entry transferring the locking mechanism to its closed position, thereby moving against the damping means. In addition, the damping means has a plurality of recesses and at least one web. According to the invention, the web is designed as an arched web and its highest arch is convexly curved against the direction of entry of the latch holder.

Dampener for an exit device

A dampener for an exit device may be disposed between a portion of an exit device actuator and an exit device chassis so that the dampener dampens vibrations to reduce noise of the exit device and/or inhibit unintentional movement of the actuator to an actuated position. The dampener may be composed at least partially of a viscoelastic material.

Device and process to dampen vibration in multi-rod configurations

A hold open rod includes an inner member; an outer member configured to have the inner member slide in and out of the outer member; and a noncircular dampening member arranged on the inner member. The noncircular dampening member being configured to dampen movement of at least one of the following: the inner member and the outer member.

Door lock chassis assembly

An apparatus that at least assists in maintaining a lever or knob of a lock device in a relatively neutral and static position. The apparatus includes a biasing element that can be constructed from a compliant material that may at least assist in reducing impact forces between interfacing surfaces at least when the lever or knob is returns to the neutral, static position from one or more activated positions. The compliant nature of the damper can further alleviate issues relating to manufacturing tolerances and wear between interfacing surfaces.

DOOR HARDWARE NOISE REDUCTION AND EVALUATION

An example exit device includes a mounting assembly configured for mounting to a door, a pushbar movably mounted to the mounting assembly, a latchbolt mounted to the mounting assembly for movement between an extended position and a retracted position, and a rocker lever engaged between the pushbar and the latchbolt such that the pushbar is operable to move the latchbolt between the extended position and the retracted position. The exit device further includes impact dampener mounted to the exit device and configured to dampen impact between a first component of the exit device and a second component of the exit device during movement of the first component relative to the second component.

DOOR HANDLE FOR PROVIDING A BUFFERING EFFECT
20190345734 · 2019-11-14 ·

A door handle for providing a buffering effect has a base, a rotator, an elastic component, a linker, a handle lever, and a damper. The rotator is engaged through the base. The elastic component hooks a limiting rod of the base and the rotator. The linker is disposed around the rotator and has a restricting rib and a pivot rod. The handle lever is inserted into the rotator. A mini buffer of the damper has a cylinder body mounted to the base, and a piston rod. A pivot arm of the damper is disposed around a shaft of the base and rotatably mounted to the piston rod. An extending arm is rotatably mounted to the pivot arm and the pivot rod, respectively. Since damping impact of the buffer effectively retards the restoring process, the strike of the backwardly swinging handle lever is buffered.
