A key fob with a pressure-managing diaphragm for an air-tight volume inside the fob comprises a housing that is made up of two portions or sections. At least one portion of the housing has an opening into the air-tight volume. The opening is covered by a flexible diaphragm, which flexes inwardly and outwardly responsive to pressure changes. The diaphragm is protected from damage by a shield extending over it.

An exemplary locking assembly includes, among other things, a lock that transitions between a first state that prevents disengaging electric vehicle supply equipment from a charge port and a second state that permits the disengaging. A control module is configured to command the lock to transition from the first to the second state in response to a user interaction with a selector device and an authentication of the user interaction. An exemplary securing method includes, among other things, receiving a request to disengage electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) from a charge port of a vehicle, permitting a disengaging if the request can be authenticated, and preventing the disengaging if the request cannot be authenticated.

A door lock device for a vehicle is provided in which a lock release member that is operable between an operating position at which the ratchet is operated toward the side on which the ratchet engages with the latch and a standby position at which free pivoting of the ratchet is allowed and that is urged toward the standby position is driven to the operating position by a drive member which engages with the lock release member when an actuator is operated, the door lock device being capable of releasing a locked state of a door by operation of the actuator and also being capable of releasing the locked state of the door by a manual operation, wherein an engagement release mechanism (96) releases engagement of a drive member (67) and a lock release member (66) in response to a manual operation for releasing the locked state of the door being carried out while the drive member (67) is engaged with the lock release member (66). This enables recovery of a state in which a door can be held in a closed state even in a state in which a drive member has stopped at an operating position due to malfunction of an actuator in a state in which a locked state of the door is released.

The present invention is a self-defense instrument comprised of an ergonomic key holder and a key with a sharpened tip that is retained within a slotted compartment defined within the key holder, said key holder further including opposite extending protrusions that extend generally perpendicularly away from the slotted compartment and that are configured to be graspable by the user's hand.

A vehicle key assembly may include a main body case; an emergency key including a key portion and a knob connected to the key portion and provided to be introduced into the main body case; a restraining member; and a manipulator configured to operate the restraining member, wherein the knob includes: a knob case connected to the key portion and configured to close an opening of the main body case in a state of being accommodated in the main body case; a key ring member mounted on the knob case to be introduced into or retracted from the knob case to be protruded to an outside of the main body case; and one or more elastic members provided in the knob case and configured to press the key ring member in a protrusion direction in which the key ring member is protruded.

An electronic key includes a mechanical key, a case in which to store the mechanical key, and a restraint member provided to the case and restraining the mechanical key from falling out of the case. The mechanical key includes a key engagement plane which is a plane perpendicular to an axial direction of a bar portion in a lock state. A PCB substrate which has a first key holder receiving groove and a first battery cover; a case which has a second key holder accommodation groove and a second battery cover accommodation groove; a key holder which accommodates the mechanical key; a battery terminal which includes a first terminal and a second terminal; and a battery cover which allows one surface of the battery to be in contact with the first terminal and the other surface of the battery to be in contact with the second terminal.

A key fob locking device for providing a rental car and fleet key and key fob retention is disclosed. A enclosing case holding two identical key fobs is used to keep the pair of key fobs together. The case includes a locking mechanism to hold a pivoting top piece in place to retain the fobs therein. The sides of the fobs having buttons used by a driver to initiate commands to the corresponding vehicle may be accessed through an open side of the case.

A key handle assembly for improving key usability for persons having limited dexterity includes a body. The body has a first side, a second side, and a perimeter edge extending between the first and second sides. The perimeter edge has a top edge, a bottom edge, a front edge and a rear edge. The front edge of the body has a plurality of notches extending therein and toward the rear side, and through the top and bottom edges. Each of the notches receives a key pivotably through the body. A plurality of intermediate walls is defined on opposite sides of the notches. The body has an aperture extending into the first side and through each of the intermediate walls. A rod extends through the aperture, through each of the intermediate walls and through a key hole in the key such that the key is pivotably coupled to the body.
