Dual function lock cylinder assembly operable by different keys

A lock cylinder assembly includes a housing, a first cylinder disposed within a first bore formed in the housing, and a second cylinder disposed within a second bore formed in the housing, in which at least one of the first and second cylinders is an electronic cylinder. The lock cylinder assembly further includes first and second cams, in which each of the first and second cams are configured to actuate a door lock mechanism. The first cam is directly connected to the second cylinder so as to be rotatable with the second cylinder. The second cylinder and the second cam are rotatable with respect to each other so that the second cam does not rotate with the second cylinder. The second cam is rotatably coupled to the first cylinder so that the second cam rotates when the first cylinder is rotated.

A rekeyable lock cylinder with a cylinder body, an inner sleeve, and a plug assembly is provided. The plug assembly includes a plurality of key followers and a corresponding plurality of first racks and second racks disposed in carriers. The first racks correspond to operation of a user key and the second racks correspond to operation of a master key. As such, the lock cylinder is usable in a user/master key system. Disengaging either of the first or second racks from the key followers allows rekeying of the lock cylinder for the user key or the master key.

LOCK CORE DEVICE BASED ON MATCHING MULTIPLE KEY CROSS-SECTIONAL SHAPES, ITS BALL SLOT CONFIGURATION METHOD, AND ITS CORRESPONDING LOCKING KEY

A lock core device based on matching the cross-sectional shape of a multiple key and a corresponding lock key, the lock contains a keyway, and the outer contour of the keyway is configured as a first section contour and a second section contour after superimposition, and its' a union outer contour. By adapting to existing keys with various cross-sectional profiles, the lock cylinder does not need to be manufactured separately according to the cross-sectional profile of the key, thus effectively reducing its manufacturing and inventory costs; A method for configuring a lock ball slot so that, in response to the deviation of the position of the teeth of the keys with different cross-sectional profiles, the teeth of the keys with different cross-sectional profiles can correspond to the lock ball slot for unlocking, thus ensuring stability and effectiveness during unlocking.

An apparatus for selectably unlocking a door comprises a base adapted to be mounted within a door, an outer cylinder selectably rotatable relative to the base, the outer cylinder having an central bore therethrough and an inner cylinder selectably rotatably received within the inner bore of the outer cylinder. The inner cylinder has a key slot therethrough and is adapted to unlock a door upon rotation of the inner cylinder. The apparatus further includes a plurality of tumblers extending between the inner and outer sleeves alignable upon insertion of a specific key within the key slot so as to permit rotation of the inner cylinder within the central bore a means for identifying a key inserted within the key slot as an authorized key and a latch operable to selectably couple the outer cylinder to the base wherein the latch uncouples the outer cylinder from the base when an authorized key is located within the key slot.

A lock (1) is described, comprising: a body (2) suitable to define a housing (3) having a longitudinal development direction (L) along an insertion direction (I) of a key (200), said housing (3) comprising a first portion (4) and a second portion (5) mutually adjacent along the longitudinal development direction (L) of the body (2); a first rotor (37) suitable to be rotationally housed within the first portion (4) of said housing (3) of such body (2) about the longitudinal development direction (L) of the body (2), said first rotor (37) being suitable to define a further housing (38); a second rotor (39) comprising a first portion (55) suitable to be rotationally housed within the second portion (5) of said housing (3) of the body (2) about the longitudinal development direction (L) of such body (2), said second rotor (39) comprising a second portion (56) suitable to be rotationally housed within the further housing (38) defined by the first rotor (37) about the longitudinal development direction (L) of such body (2). The second rotor (39), by the insertion of the key (200), is suitable to translate along the longitudinal development direction (L) of the body (2) with respect to the first rotor (37). The second rotor (39), by a first rotation portion of the key (200), is suitable to rotate about the longitudinal development direction (L) of the body (2) with respect to the first rotor (37), to pass from a disengagement position to an engagement position with said first rotor (37). In the engagement position, said first rotor (37) and said second rotor (39), by a second portion of rotation of the key (200), are suitable to integrally translate along the longitudinal development direction (L) of the body (2) to reach an actuating position of the lock (1).

Sidebit operated interchangeable core control lug

A retention mechanism for retaining a lock cylinder in a lock housing. The retention mechanism includes a control lug, a control pin, and a finger pin. A portion of the control lug is configured to be positioned in a retention recess of the lock housing when the control lug is in an engagement position to prevent the removal of the lock cylinder from the lock housing. With the control lug in the engaged position, at least a portion of the control pin may be biased into a chamber of the control lug to retain the control lug at the engaged position. When the control lug is to be displaced from the engaged position, the finger pin may be lifted to an activation position, such as by a sidebit of a key, wherein the finger pin may removably displace the control pin from at least a portion of the chamber.
