LOCK AND KEY THEREFOR
A lock cylinder having a barrel and a lock housing, the barrel having a locking cam pivotally mounted therein, the locking cam including at least one recess on an outer periphery thereof, a housing recess formed on an inner wall of the lock housing, a locking member that, in a locking position, is positioned at least partly in the housing recess formed on the inner wall of the lock housing, the at least one recess on the locking cam including a first recess on the locking cam, the first recess being sized to enable the locking member to move out of the housing groove, the barrel having a key slot for receiving a key, the key including a projection for causing the locking cam to rotate to bring the first recess on the locking cam adjacent to or into alignment with the locking member such that the locking member moves out of the housing recess and into the first recess of the locking cam and barrel slot to thereby enable rotation of the barrel in the lock housing.
Pin tumbler lock
A pin tumbler cylinder lock that is virtually pick proof comprises a cylinder housing having a single bore and a cylinder key plug arranged in the single bore. The pin tumbler cylinder lock also comprises a cutout having a predetermined shape in a predetermined portion of the housing. The pin tumbler cylinder lock also includes a lockout sleeve arranged over the cylinder key plug wherein the lockout sleeve may rotate within the cutout to create a lockout mode for the pin tumbler cylinder lock when a lock picking attempt is occurring thereon.
REKEYABLE LOCK CYLINDER WITH ENHANCED TORQUE RESISTANCE
A rekeyable lock cylinder with a cylinder body and a plug assembly. The lock cylinder includes a plurality of key followers and a corresponding plurality of racks disposed in the plug assembly. The lock cylinder includes, for example, a locking bar for blocking rotation of the plug assembly with respect to the cylinder body to prevent unlocking of the rekeyable lock cylinder with an unauthorized object. In some embodiments, the locking bar is configured such that torqueing the plug assembly with an unauthorized object applies force to the locking bar without translating such force to the plurality of racks. This type of arrangement enhances torque resistance of the lock cylinder against attempted forced entry.
Modular lock plug
A plug assembly including a plug, a sidebar movably mounted on the plug, and a plurality of rack pins seated in the plug. The sidebar is biased to an outer position in which the sidebar extends beyond an outer surface of the plug. Each rack pin includes a key-following leg and a sidebar-engaging leg. The sidebar-engaging leg includes at least one true gate. When a true gate of each rack pin is aligned with the sidebar, the sidebar is free to move radially inward to an inner position.
Cylinder lock and associated key
A cylinder lock and an associated key, the lock including a fixed body and a plug which is accommodated within a respective cavity of the body and can rotate with respect to the body. The plug includes a substantially longitudinal compartment for the functional accommodation of a key which includes a grip portion from which an elongated body extends and which is provided with coding grooves and protrusions on its outer surface. Between the plug and the body are respective accommodation channels for translating coding elements, which open onto the substantially longitudinal compartment. The plug includes at least one auxiliary duct which faces the substantially longitudinal compartment and extends at least partially in the body for the sliding accommodation of at least one coding unit that includes at least one pin and at least one conical portion.
High Security Locking System Which forms a Deviating Picking Path and Associated Deviated Key
A locking system has a lock housing having first pin slots, a lock cylinder having second pin slots and being supported within the lock housing such that rotation of the lock cylinder is dependent upon a position of tumbler pins within the pin slots, and an idler block defining a keyway to receive a deviated key in which the idler block is rotatable relative to the lock cylinder between an entry position and a pin position aligning the key with the pin slots. One or more translating shields in the idler block are movable from an open position in which the keyway is unobstructed by the shield to allow for insertion or removal of the deviated key and a closed position in which the translating shield protrudes at least partway into a path of the keyway without interfering with rotation of the deviated key with the idler block.
REKEYABLE LOCK WITH SMALL INCREMENTS
A rekeyable lock cylinder with a cylinder body and a plug assembly. The lock cylinder includes a plurality of key followers and a corresponding plurality of racks disposed in the plug assembly. Disengaging the racks from the key followers allows rekeying of the lock cylinder.
High security lock with slider to isolate lock pins from cylinder applied torque
A locking system uses a lock housing, a lock cylinder for rotation in the lock housing, pins to control the lock cylinder being in unlocked or locked states relative to the lock housing, and a key to control the position of the pins. The system further includes a slider or lock bar within the lock housing. The slider moves relative to the lock cylinder and the lock housing between (i) a cylinder locking position blocking rotation of the lock cylinder relative to the lock housing so as to isolate the pins from the torque applied to the lock cylinder while allowing the pins to be displaced between the locked and unlocked positions thereof and (ii) a pin locking position of the slider in which the pins are resisted from movement relative to the lock housing and the lock cylinder while rotation of the lock cylinder is uninhibited by the slider.
