Cooler lock
A cooler access control system locks a cooler when occurrence of an event is detected that requires limiting access to the inside of the cooler. Examples of such events include the loss of power to the cooler for a predetermined period of time, the opening of the cooler door for longer than an allowed time, the loss of functionality of a temperature probe and others. In an embodiment, a service mode is supported wherein the door is left unlocked despite the occurrence of such an event, to allow a stocker or other personnel to leave the cooler door open while stocking the cooler with product.
Systems and methods for locking device management including time delay policies using random time delays
A locking device employs improved lock management techniques based on time delay polices that use a random period of time. The locking device receives a first credential of a custodian, validates the first credential and determines a random period of time based upon a time-delay policy when the first credential is validated. The locking device executes a lock release protocol upon expiration of the random period of time.
SHOWER FALL PREVENTION DEVICE
A device may be provided for preventing fatal bathroom accidents relating to falls. Such a shower fall prevention device may be attached to a fixing point on a ceiling of a shower and may have two arm pit hooks pivotably connected to the fixing point. It may further comprise a rod connected between the fixing point and a bar, where arm pit hooks may be connected on right and left ends of the bar. The device may further comprise a strong rubber band or an extendable and retractable belt, connected between the fixing point and the rod. The device may further comprise a handle next to the rod and connected to the bar via an extension of a free end of one of the arm pit hooks, and may further comprise a cushion formed on an extension of a free end of one of the arm pit hooks.
Exit push rail monitoring system with hall effect sensor
A delayed egress exit push rail system for a door has a push rail movable relative to a housing between a home position and a second position to open the door, a sensor for determining the position of the push rail as the push rail moves between the home position and the second position and a controller connected to the sensor. The sensor detects a current position of the push rail in the home position and the controller determines if the current position of the push rail detected by the sensor is within a predetermined acceptable range of positions relative to the home position. If the controller determines that the current position of the push rail is outside of the predetermined range, the controller unlocks the door for immediate egress, relays an error message via light or sound and/or communicates with a remote monitoring device.
METHOD FOR FACILITATING COLLECTION OF ITEMS WITHOUT HUMAN INTERACTION
A method for facilitating collection of items without human interaction involves providing a banks of compartments, with the bank of compartments having a plurality of individual compartments. The method involves instructing the customer to use a personal electronic device upon arrival to communicate with a server. The method involves programming the server to respond to communication from the customer by providing a temporary communication interface. Upon the customer providing information deemed necessary to the server via the temporary communication interface, the server directs the customer to a selected one of the plurality of individual compartments. Where theft is a concern, each of the individual compartments may have a door locked by an electronic lock controlled by the server.
BARRIER CONTROL SYSTEM
A barrier control system running a program thereon, the barrier control system including a main body, a control unit disposed within at least a portion of the main body to execute the program to control operations of the main body, and at least one control device connected to the control unit to control operations of the main body through the control unit based on the program.
Lockout system for energy sources
A lockout system includes a hasp assembly and a plurality of tags. The hasp assembly has a back plate defining slots each sized and shaped to receive a tag. The back plate and tags each have openings that align when a tag is received in a slot. A first hasp portion has a first loop portion and a second hasp portion has a second loop portion. The first and second hasp portions are rotatable with respect to one another such that moving the lockout system has both an unlocked position and a locked position associated with an open position and a closed position. In the closed position, the first and second hasp portions complete and define a closed loop, where one or more tags can be installed in slots preventing further movement from the closed position.
LOCKING DEVICE FOR A VEHICLE DOOR OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
A motor vehicle locking device for a vehicle door includes a door lock that can be released electrically released and, parallel thereto, mechanically released via a mechanical operative connection to a first actuatable door handle. A coupling is arranged in the mechanical operative connection between the door handle and the door lock, which coupling can be engaged and disengaged via a coupling motor. A control unit is connected to a crash sensor for detecting an accident. In the normal operating state, the coupling is always in the disengaged state irrespective of opening requirements and, in addition to the coupling motor, can be engaged and disengaged by an electromagnetic actuating device that engages the coupling when the power is switched off. A first timer can be triggered by the signal of the crash sensor, such that the control unit, after the first timer elapses after receiving a crash signal, activates the coupling motor to engage the coupling. Accordingly, the mechanical active connection between the door handle and the lock is always disengaged, except in an accident situation.
GERMICIDAL HANDLES
A germicidal system includes a handle for opening a door or compartment. An ultra-violet illuminator is mounted proximate the handle for irradiating a surface of the handle to reduce pathogens from the handle between uses. The illuminator can include at least one LED that emits in ultra-violet wavelengths. A sensor can be included proximate the handle. A controller can be operatively connected to the sensor and to the illuminator. The controller can be configured to activate the illuminator based on detection of a user by the sensor. The controller can be configured to activate the illuminator for a predetermined amount of time for each use of the handle.
