A system and method is provided for an enhanced and user friendly control circuit for an electric unlocking device, such as for example, an electric door strike or other unlocking devices utilizing actuating solenoids. The control circuit minimizes the potential for human error while also providing a small footprint, minimal DC in-rush current, over current protection, and minimized heat dissipation. Additionally, the present invention is directed to providing visual notification/diagnostics and improved field compatibility with existing electric unlocking devices.

MAGNETICALLY-TRIGGERED LOCK MECHANISM
20210396048 · 2021-12-23 ·

A lock mechanism for interengaging two relatively movable components includes a bolt mounted within a first component and interengageable with a second component when the first and second components are in a predetermined position relative to each other and the bolt is extended. A magnetically-releasable latch mechanism is positioned to latch the bolt in a retracted position and is mounted for movement between a biased latch engaging position and a latch releasing position in a non-common direction of movement of the bolt. A first magnet is disposed within a trigger being translatable along an axis parallel to a longitudinal axis of the bolt and a second magnet is positioned to displace the latch mechanism to the latch releasing position as the trigger is caused to translate vertically when the first component is in the predetermined position relative to the second component to permit displacement of the bolt to the extended position.

RIM STRIKE ASSEMBLY AND METHODS OF USE
20210396047 · 2021-12-23 ·

A rim strike assembly includes a strike body, strike jaw, retaining clutch, locking cam, locking clutch, and a solenoid. The strike jaw, retaining clutch, locking cam, and locking clutch are pivotably coupled to the strike body. The strike body and strike jaw define a latch cavity to receive a latch of a door. The strike jaw includes a jaw follower. The strike jaw is pivotable between a release position and a closed position. The retaining clutch engages the jaw follower and includes a retaining follower. The locking cam includes a retaining notch and a locking notch. The retaining follower engages the retaining notch. The locking clutch includes a locking follower that engages the locking notch of the locking cam. The solenoid includes a plunger coupled to the locking clutch such that movement of the plunger rotates the locking clutch from a locked position to an unlocked position.

LATCH ASSEMBLY

A latch assembly for a vehicle, in applications such as an armrest console or a glove box, includes a shape memory alloy (SMA) actuator. The SMA actuator includes an actuator housing, an SMA wire, and an actuator lever arm. The actuator lever arm is configured to pivotably rotate or linearly translate with respect to the actuator housing upon activation of the SMA wire. A connecting link is coupled to the actuator lever arm. The connecting link is configured to translate linearly along a connecting link axis when the actuator lever arm pivotably rotates or linearly translates. A striker is coupled to the connecting link and configured to rotate about a striker axis to engage a closing surface.

ELECTRONIC STRIKE PLATE FOR DOOR ASSEMBLY
20210388640 · 2021-12-16 ·

An apparatus for interacting with a latch of a door includes a contact component configured to make physical contact with the latch, an electrically-powered module, and a housing. The electrically-powered module is configured to move the contact component such that the contact component pushes the latch out of a bore of a door frame and into the door. The housing contains the electrically-powered module and the contact component, and is configured to fit within the bore of the door frame. The apparatus can also include a mounting plate attached to the housing, the mounting plate configured to mount the apparatus to the door frame such that the housing is disposed within the bore of the door frame.

TOUCHLESS, PUSHBUTTON EXIT DEVICES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS THEREOF
20220205277 · 2022-06-30 ·

The present disclosure relates to touchless, pushbutton exit devices, systems and methods thereof. A touchless, pushbutton exit device of the present disclosure is a touchless door-control device designed to provide both contactless, fail-safe, egress/exit control as well as push-button egress/exit control. The touchless, pushbutton exit device can be used in conjunction with a host of existing security devices (e.g., Fire, Alarm Panel, and Access Control), or as a stand-alone solution. The present disclosure provides for at least three types of exit devices, i.e., an Infrared (IR) version, a Doppler (radar) version and a low-power radar-based version. When motion is detected within a predetermined distance (e.g., about 5.5 inches for the Infrared version or about 24 inches for the Doppler version) of a faceplate of the exit device, an onboard relay is activated, providing control for intermittent as well as continuous duty locking devices.

A Mounting Assembly

A mounting assembly comprising: a bracket; a mounting part; and a height adjustment mechanism to vary the position of the mounting part with respect to the bracket in the vertical direction. The height adjustment mechanism comprises: a set of interlocking elements; an arm connected to the bracket and having a protrusion that is moveable in a depth direction with respect to the bracket between a retracted position and a locking position in which the free end interlocks with an interlocking element; and at least one set screw extending along the vertical direction. Rotating the set screw moves the set screw in the vertical direction and pushes the protrusion from its retracted position to its locking position.

RELEASABLE LOCKING MECHANISM FOR A REFRIGERATED APPLIANCE

A releasable locking mechanism for a refrigerated unit. A latch plate is movable between a position that can be engaged by a deadbolt and a position clear of the deadbolt. The latch plate is moved by a door release accessible from an interior of the refrigerated unit. When the door release is activated, a pin blocks movement of the latch plate so that the refrigerated unit remains unlocked until the pin is reset.

Contamination resistant appliance latch

An appliance lid lock mechanism provides a lock pin that may be extended into or withdrawn out of a lock cavity that receives a strike attached to the appliance lid interacting with the lock pin when the lid is closed. The lock pin communicates with the electric actuator on the opposite side of the lock pin from the lock pin's entry into the lock cavity by means of sidebars passing to the side of the lock cavity. The lock bar and sidebars are substantially coplanar with an actuation axis to prevent passage of liquid along these elements between the lock pin and the actuator.
