Electrically operated door strike with thermally responsive element

In one aspect the present invention provides a door strike which prevents the opening of an associated door when the door strike has been heated to an elevated temperature of at least about 1000° F., preferably when the door strike is at higher temperatures such as are present during a fire in a building structure. The door strike includes a thermally responsive element which retards the normal operation of the door strike when it is at an elevated temperature. A further aspect of the invention is a method for controlling the undesired spread of a fire or smoke between adjacent spaces separated by the door wherein a fire or smoke condition exists in at least one of these spaces, via the provision of a door strike having a thermally responsive element which retards the normal operation of the door strike when it is at an elevated temperature.

Trailer roll door and locking system

A door and locking system for a rear opening of a long bed trailer, the rear opening having a top edge, a bottom edge and first and second side edges, the door and locking system has a canvas door configured for mounting adjacent to the rear opening of the long bed trailer. The canvas door can move between a closed position in which the canvas door moves to close the rear opening and an open position in which the canvas door moves to open the rear opening. A locking system secured to the edges of the rear opening can move between a locked position, in which the locking system is in locking engagement with the canvas door in the closed position to secure the canvas door against the edges of the rear opening to close the opening for retaining fluidizable product in the long bed trailer and an unlocked position, in which the locking system is free from locking engagement with the canvas door to allow the canvas door to move into the open position.

Locking device for a movable part of a vehicle

A locking device for a movable part of a vehicle, in particular for a bonnet of a vehicle, having a locking mechanism which can be mounted on the body side and intended for receiving a lock holder arranged on the movable part, and also having a raising mechanism which can be brought into contact with the lock holder and intended for moving the movable part into at least one protection position, wherein the raising mechanism has at least a first overload protector, with the result that, in a load situation, the movable part is movable from the protection position into an impact position.

A conduit locking device includes a housing having a first end, a second end, and a sidewall disposed between the first end and the second end. The conduit locking device may further include a slide engaged with the sidewall of the housing, the slide including an extension arm and an end portion structurally configured to engage with an inner wall of a conduit. The slide may be extendable via the extension arm from a first position substantially adjacent to the sidewall of the housing to a second position disposed away from the sidewall of the housing, where, when in the second position, the slide is configured to retain the conduit locking device at a fixed position within the conduit through the engagement of the end portion with the inner wall of the conduit.

A latch assembly for a decompression panel in an aircraft includes a base and a swing arm hinged to the base and pivotable relative to the base about a hinge axis between a latched position and an unlatched position. A load pin fixed to the swing arm has a pin axis a fixed distance from the hinge axis. A spring secured to the base is positioned to exert a spring force against the swing arm when the swing arm pivots from the latched position to the unlatched position. A bracket securable to the decompression panel defines a slot retaining the load pin when the swing arm is in the latched position. The load pin is movable in the slot under relative motion of the bracket and the base with the swing arm in the latched position, and exits the slot when the swing arm pivots to the unlatched position.
