Supplemental door lock and alert system
An alert system configured to monitor a status of one or more supplemental door locks comprises a switch assembly and an alarm. The switch assembly is configured to detect whether one supplemental door lock is unlocked or locked and includes a switch, an indicator, and a communication element. The switch is to be coupled to a locking component of the supplemental door lock. The switch is configured to sense a position of the locking component and generate an electronic signal or data. The indicator is configured to provide a first indication of a status of the supplemental door lock. The communication element is configured to receive the electronic signal or data from the switch and generate a wireless signal that corresponds to the electronic signal or data. The alarm is configured to generate an audible or visible alarm when the switch assembly detects that the supplemental door lock is locked.
HANDS-FREE VENDING MACHINE AND DOOR OPENING ASSEMBLY
A pedal-operated vending machine includes a housing defining a product storage area and a delivery portal. The vending machine further includes a dispensing mechanism configured to convey a product in the product storage area to the delivery portal. Vending machine may further include a pedal arranged on a lower end of the housing and configured to be operated by a foot of a consumer to actuate the dispensing mechanism to move the product from the product storage area to the delivery portal.
Safety gate latch for a livestock trailer
A safety latch mechanism for anchoring an open center gate in a livestock trailer includes a spring-biased post attached to the center gate's free edge having a lifting lever at an upper end. An arcuate track embedded within the truck bed traces the path of the center gate's free edge when moving between a fully opened and a fully closed position. The track includes a series of juxtaposed, segregated compartments for receiving a lower end of the post. Accordingly, the center gate can be locked in a multitude of angular positions between the fully open and fully closed positions by lifting the lever and releasing it into one of the compartments.
FOOT PULL
An improved foot pull for hands free opening of a door is described. The design provides a more ergonomic engagement of the user by providing an angled plate to engage their foot the plate further including a region treated to prevent slippage of the users foot off of the plate. A pair of the foot pulls can be used in tandem to provide a door stop and a means to hold a door in the open position against a wall. The design can also include actuators that can release a latch on the door. The actuators include mechanical linkages to the door handle. The actuators can also be electronic with wired or wireless connection to the latch on the door and can further be used to signal and actuate any electronic device such as a light or alarm system. The door pull can also include a mechanical cable or a hydraulic connection to actuate the door latch.
Novel Door Latching System Configured For Foot Use
A door latching or locking system is provided whereby the user locks and unlocks the system using their feet.
DOOR-UNLATCHING DEVICE
A door-unlatching device including a lower actuator including a foot-pad, an upper actuator including a lever-arm and a handle-mount attachable to a handle of door-latch, and a link coupled to the foot-pad and the lever-arm, wherein the lever-arm is movable between a first position and a second position relative to the handle-mount. It can be set to either engaged mode which allows either hand or foot to operate; or disengaged mode to allow only hand to operate which the door can also be locked from entry as by a normal door latch.
FOOT OPERATED LAVATORY DOOR ACTUATION AND DE-ACTUATION
A door system comprises a door, the door including a latch assembly configured to latch the door to a door frame to maintain the door in a closed position and to unlatch to allow the door to open to an opened position. A foot pedal is operatively connected to unlatch the latch assembly upon actuation by a user's foot. In certain embodiments, a handle can be operatively connected to unlatch the latch assembly upon actuation a user. The door system further includes the door frame and set of hinges operatively connecting the door to the door frame.
Selectively securable, magnetically attachable and removable, foot activated doorway opener, preferably for horizontally sliding screen doors
A pair of foot-contacting components are magnetically coupled on both sides of the bottom frame of a corner of a sliding screen door. The magnetic coupling holds the components to one another about the frame and near to the door's lower corner. The components have foot or toe contact surfaces so that either component can be contacted by a foot or toe in such a manner that lateral movement of the user's foot or toe against the component will slide the door open or closed in its trackway. The components are shaped to facilitate contact with the user's toe/foot and are easy to put onto the door and selectively removed. The magnets are molded into components (preferably made of silicone, rubber, hard plastic, etc.) and can be quickly placed onto the door and removed.
DOOR LOCKING APPARATUS
The disclosed technology includes a door locking apparatus. In some implementations, the door locking apparatus includes a door stop. In some implementations, the door locking apparatus includes a door block. In some implementations, the door locking apparatus includes a door lock. In some implementations, the door locking apparatus is multi-functional and includes at least one of a door stop, block, and a lock. In some implementations, the door locking apparatus may be operated by a user's foot, although other methods of operation are contemplated. In some implementations, the door locking apparatus may be affixed to either an inside opening door or an outside opening door.
Hands Free Gate
The present gate includes a barrier frame and a gate in the barrier frame. The gate is opened by inserting a foot into a foot opening in the gate, which action compresses springs disposed about pivot pins between the gate and the barrier frame and draws an extended latch downwardly and out of a latch receiver that is bottomless, which action unlatches and frees the gate from the barrier frame such that the gate can be swung open. Downward travel of the gate is minimized until a foot pushes a pivoting stop out of the way.
