SUPPLEMENTAL DOOR LOCK AND ALERT SYSTEM
An alert system configured to monitor a status of one or more supplemental door locks comprises a switch assembly and an alarm. The switch assembly is configured to detect whether one supplemental door lock is unlocked or locked and includes a switch, an indicator, and a communication element. The switch is to be coupled to a locking component of the supplemental door lock. The switch is configured to sense a position of the locking component and generate an electronic signal or data. The indicator is configured to provide a first indication of a status of the supplemental door lock. The communication element is configured to receive the electronic signal or data from the switch and generate a wireless signal that corresponds to the electronic signal or data. The alarm is configured to generate an audible or visible alarm when the switch assembly detects that the supplemental door lock is locked.
SUPPLEMENTAL DOOR LOCK
A supplemental door lock comprises a door-mounted component and a floor-mounted component. The door-mounted component includes a door-mounted plate, a hinge plate, and a locking assembly. The door-mounted plate is configured to attach to a door. The hinge plate is mounted on the door-mounted plate and includes upper and lower bridges which form spaces between the plates. The lower bridge includes a groove. The locking assembly includes a hinge pin, a locking blade, and a locking post. The hinge pin is positioned in the spaces and may be rotated between unlocked and locked positions. The locking blade includes a tab attached to the hinge pin and positioned in the groove when the hinge pin is in the locked position. The locking post is attached to the locking blade. The floor-mounted component includes a plate to be mounted on the floor. The plate includes a slot which receives the locking post.
SUPPLEMENTAL DOOR LOCK AND BREACH TOOL
A breach tool for unlocking a supplemental door lock mounted on a lower edge of a first side of a door comprises a handle section, a first hinged section, and a second hinged section. The handle section includes a first panel and a second panel connected to the first panel. The first hinged section includes a first hinge that rotatably joins the first hinged section to the first panel of the handle section and a tab extending outward from the first hinged section at roughly a right angle. The tab is positioned opposite from the first hinge. The second hinged section includes a second hinge that rotatably joins the second hinged section to the first hinged section and an upturned edge positioned opposite the second hinge. The breach tool is configured to be pushed under the door to raise a locking feature to unlock the supplemental door lock.
LOCKING APPARATUSES AND A METHOD OF PROVIDING ACCESS CONTROL
Locking apparatuses and methods are provided for controlling access to a space using an improved locking apparatus. Provided are apparatuses, systems, and methods for providing lockdown control a protected area, such as a classroom or other area, where a single input may be provided to place one or more locking apparatuses in a lockdown state.
Foot-operated systems and devices for handless operation of a door
Systems, devices, and methods are provided herein for handless operation of a door. For example, a system is disclosed having a foot pedal assembly configured to be disposed at a bottom edge of the door, the foot pedal assembly configured to generate a signal, and a push-lock assembly configured to attach to a door handle external to a mounting rose of the door handle, the push-lock assembly configured to receive the signal from the foot pedal assembly and translate the signal into rotational movement configured to operate the door handle.
FOOT ACTUATED DOOR OPENER
A door opener adapted to allow a user to open a door without requiring the use of a hand. The door has an automated latching system with a wireless receiver. The door opener has a bracket with a substantially rigid base plate that cradles a human foot. A set of screws attach the bracket to the door near the door bottom. The bracket supports a switch housing with a wireless transmitter and a switch. A pressure plate positioned on the bracket triggers the switch to send a wireless signal to the latching system receiver, which unlatches the door. The user can then swing the door with the user's foot on the bracket.
Concealed door opening system
A cabinet structure includes a frame having a plurality of panels; a door pivotally secure to a panel of the plurality of panels; a foot bracket secured to the door, the foot bracket forming a c-shaped structure having an opening configured to receive a foot therein; a door stop secured to an outer surface of the foot bracket and configured to engage with the frame and configured to secure the door in a locked positioned; and a foot grip disposed within the opening of the foot bracket and configured to engage with the foot.
SUPPORT APPARATUS FOR A SWINGING GATE
A gate support system for the free-end of a swinging gate. The system includes a first elongated support member; a second elongated support member, a foot member carried by the second elongated support member and being vertically moveable relative to the second elongated support member between raised and lowered positions; bias means for biasing the foot member to the raised position; and a locking mechanism for locking the foot member in a desired vertical position relative to the second elongated support member. When the gate has been pivoted to a desired position, the foot member can be pushed downwardly until it rests firmly on the ground. The locking mechanism will maintain the foot member in a lowered position where it will support the weight of the free-end of the gate. A handle can be activated to release the locking mechanism and enable the foot member to move to a raised position.
Hands Free Gate
The present gate includes a barrier frame and a gate in the barrier frame. The gate is opened by inserting a foot into a foot opening in the gate, which action compresses springs disposed about pivot pins between the gate and the barrier frame and draws an extended latch downwardly and out of a latch receiver that is bottomless, which action unlatches and frees the gate from the barrier frame such that the gate can be swung open. Downward travel of the gate is minimized until a foot pushes a pivoting stop out of the way.
FOOT ACTUATED QUICK LOCKING APPARATUS
A foot actuated quick locking apparatus is disclosed herein which is configured to quick lock a door during an emergency situation. The foot actuated quick locking apparatus comprises a spring loaded bolt, a sleeve, and a lever member. The spring loaded bolt is mounted at a bottom section of a door, and the sleeve positioned on the floor, where the sleeve is axially aligned to receive the spring loaded bolt when the door is in closed position. The lever member is connected to the spring loaded bolt, where a user is configured to actuate the lever member via foot to quick release the spring loaded bolt. The spring loaded bolt is received within the sleeve to quick lock the door.
