Apparatus for Barricading an Inwardly Swinging Door to Provide Physical Security
A stop to barricade a door from forced entry is disclosed. The stop includes an upper portion designed to contact the door to barricade it against forced entry, and a lower portion that fits within a receptacle that is recessed into the floor. The stop can be removed from the receptacle when the user doesn't desire to barricade the door. When the stop is placed in the receptacle, the stop is preferably configurable by the user in two modes: a first that allows the user to slightly open the door by a gap, and a second that barricades the door when it is shut. Barricading the door in this second mode is beneficial because it allows the user to look through the gap to verify the identity of a person on the outside of the door, and/or to receive an item through the gap while not opening the door completely.
LOCKING APPARATUSES AND A METHOD OF PROVIDING ACCESS CONTROL
Apparatuses, methods, and systems for providing a locking apparatus for resisting movement of an openable element are described. The locking apparatus includes a body, an actuator, a lifting member, at least a portion of the lifting member being configured to be raised or lowered relative to the body according to an output of the actuator, the lifting member comprising a contact surface configured to restrict movement of the openable element, and a strap coupled to the body and to the lifting member, the strap configured to permit the lifting member to flex based at least in part upon contact between the lifting member and the openable element and to transfer energy received at the lifting member into the body of the locking apparatus into a surface to which the locking apparatus is mounted.
Barrier Locking System and Method
A manually activated locking device is provided to inhibit and restrict an entry/exit door from opening either outward or inward or both, as installed. In one aspect, the device that can be set from inside the room to be protected from threats or intrusion. In one aspect, the locking device is designed to be tamper-proof from outside the room yet allows access by authorized individuals thereby creating a secure but accessible safe zone for individuals or property inside the zone. In one aspect, the activated locking device may be mechanical system which may prevent hacking on the locking device.
Security lock for door
A security lock for a door is provided having a bracket on the interior side of the door with a locking bolt mounted in the bracket. The bolt is adapted for movement between a raised, unlocked position above a cavity on the floor below the bracket and a lowered, locked position where the bolt is in the cavity to prevent the door from being opened. A bolt restraint is mounted on the bracket and cooperates with the bracket to maintain the bolt in its unlocked position. The bolt restraint, for example, a spring-loaded ball that engages an annular recess in the bolt, releases the bolt into its locked position when a downward force is applied to the bolt. The locking bolt has an enlarged flange that stops movement of the bolt into the cavity beyond a predetermined location on the bolt.
Locking Apparatus, Locking Member, and Method of Use
Apparatuses, systems, and methods are provided for restricting movement of an openable object including a body, an actuator, a lifting member, at least a portion of the lifting member being configured to be raised or lowered relative to the body using the actuator to selectively restrict movement of the openable object, and a control circuit including a transceiver configured to receive a requested operation, the control circuit configured to process the requested operation and to control the locking apparatus responsive to the requested operation to place the locking apparatus in a locked or an unlocked state.
Door floor anchor assembly
A bi-fold door is opened with a lift assembly having a plurality of straps attached to power driven lift drums. A latch assembly retains the closed bi-fold door secure to side columns of a building. The latch assembly has a latch strap attached to a latch drum that accommodates the latch strap to hold the closed bi-fold door in contact with the side columns of the building. A floor anchor assembly anchors the bottom of the closed bi-fold door to the floor below the closed bi-fold door to stabilize and inhibit bending and deformation of the bi-fold door frame.
DOOR BARRICADE WITH SINGLE MOTION EGRESS
The present invention is an improved door barricade having a pivoting locking arm which drops into a floor hole to lock a barricade in place. In this invention, a system of single motion egress is taught which allows the barricaded door to be opened by the door knob or other exit means.
Door Securing Device
A door locking apparatus and method adapted to allow a person inside an enclosable space to quickly close a door, denying entry into the enclosable space such as a room or building, and enabling such door to be quickly locked from within without any tools or keys and in a one-step motion, such that an unwanted intruder is denied access. The invention comprises a locking post that is received by a receiving structure such a floor or door frame. The locking post of the invention may be of substantial cross section such that unaided forceful entry is prevented. The latch of the invention may be manually operated by the foot or hand of the user. The door locking device is able to be locked or unlocked by a user from within an enclosable space, but can only be unlocked from outside the enclosable space by a key or code.
Locking apparatus, locking member, and method of use
An apparatus and method are provided for controlling access to a space using an improved locking apparatus. The locking apparatus includes a central member having an actuator, a shaft connected to the actuator, at least one cam attached to the shaft, a control circuit configured to control operations of the locking apparatus, and a lifting member configured to be raised or lowered according to a command position. A method is provided for operating a mounted locking apparatus in a locked or unlocked state.
BUILDING LOCKDOWN SYSTEM
A lockdown system for use in a building including multiple rooms with doors providing access to the rooms, the lockdown system including: at least one room lockdown component provided in each of a plurality of the rooms, the room lockdown components comprising door-securing devices that are external of the doors and, in a deployed condition of the room lockdown components, are manually positioned inside said rooms to oppose inward movement of the doors and thereby block or secure the doors, the room lockdown components further characterized by a non-deployed condition in which the door-securing devices are positioned at storage locations inside the rooms, and wherein further each room lockdown component is operative to automatically signal initiation of a lockdown event when its door-securing device has been moved from its storage location; and at least one communication device operative to receive the signaled initiation of a lockdown event when any one or more of the door-securing devices have been moved from their storage locations, and to provide an alert notification of the initiation of the lockdown event.
