Push to release fuel door operator assembly

A push to release fuel filler door assembly for a motor vehicle includes a door on the exterior of the vehicle having a latch that cooperates with a spring biased plunger which rotates and translates axially. The plunger includes radially extending pins which are received in complementary helical tracks on the inner surface of an inner housing. The tracks define a closed path having a first segment, in which the pins travel while the fuel door is being closed, a second segment in which they travel while the fuel door is opening and a latching recess between the first and second segments in which the pins reside when the door is closed. The inner housing typically includes three segments or sections and is, in turn, received and retained within an outer housing which mounts on a fuel door inlet assembly.

A latch assembly is provided where the latch is moveable to open and close a door by operation of a dead lock assembly that blocks or unblocks movement of a bolt. In a blocked state, a blocking cartridge of the dead lock assembly is prevented from inward movement, blocking inward movement of the bolt. Turning a door knob or door handle causes a spindle extending through the dead lock assembly to move locking bars of the dead locking assembly, the locking bars moving further apart to permit the blocking cartridge to slide there between and move inwardly into the latch housing. The bolt can now move inward by force of the doorjamb upon the bolt in order to clear the doorjamb when opening and closing the door.

DOOR STRIKER FOR PREVENTING DOOR MOVEMENT
20190376314 · 2019-12-12 ·

A door striker has an improved cross-sectional shape so that a latch can be maintained in close contact with the striker without back-and-forth clearance. In contrast, with conventional strikers, a door may make noise by being shaken due to application of external forces including changes in indoor and outdoor air pressure. Door strikers described herein include a latch assembly on a side surface of a door, which is connected to and operated by a handle member. A striker, to which a latch of the latch assembly is fitted, is installed on a door frame. The striker has a front latching protrusion for latching a front surface of the latch and a rear latching protrusion for latching a rear surface of the latch. The front latching protrusion has a right-angled surface of a front end thereof and an inclined surface the inside thereof.
