SEAL ASSEMBLY FOR UTILITY METER AND ASSOCIATED METHODS

Disclosed is a seal assembly for a utility meter enclosure. The seal assembly secures together a front cover and a base of the utility meter enclosure in a way that requires breaking of the seal assembly in order to open the utility meter enclosure. As such, the seal assembly provides an indication if the utility meter enclosure has been opened or tampered with.

Universal rail for utility pit

A rail for a utility pit includes: a top end; a bottom end distal from the top end; an outer face defining a curved radially outer surface, the radially outer surface configured to mount on an inner surface of the utility pit; an inner face distal from the outer face and defining a radially inner surface; a center-lock strike portion proximate to a first side end of the rail, the center-lock strike portion defining a center-lock strike notch in the bottom surface; and a side-lock strike portion distal from the first side end, the side-lock strike portion defining a side-lock strike notch, the side-lock strike notch defining a central wall and a pair of side walls extending radially inward from the central wall, a surface of each of the pair of side walls angled with respect to the central wall.

UTILITY METER ENCLOSURE WITH DUAL POSITION LOCKS

A utility meter assembly having a base that is secured to a front cover. The assembly includes a dual locking system having a first locking position and a second locking position. In the first locking position, the front cover is removably secured with the base. In the second locking position, the front cover is permanently secured with the base to prevent separation of the two components unless one or both components are destroyed.

BARREL LOCK

A lock assembly includes a cylinder portion having an open end which receives a key. The assembly further includes a stem portion operatively connected to the cylinder portion and torsion spring operatively attached to the first and second lock portions, wherein the stem portion is capable of biased rotational movement independent of the cylinder portion. The lock assembly also includes at least one locking ball received atop the stem portion, the at least one locking ball being extendable and retractable from at least one slot in a housing of the lock assembly. A compression spring received about the stem portion biases the at least one locking ball towards a distal end of the stem. During installation into a lock receptacle, the locking ball is urged radially against the stem, causing the stem to rotate against the bias of the torsion spring, as well as urged axially rearward within the slot against the bias of the compression spring. In this position, the locking ball is positioned above a relieved area of the stem, permitting the locking ball to retract into the housing.

Circuit Breaker Internal Manipulator and Door Lock

The disclosed invention ensures safe operation of an electrical switchgear by preventing an operator from contacting or interacting with an active circuit breaker. The locking system prevents a door to the interior of the switchgear from opening until the circuit breaker is in a disengaged position. A circuit breaker decoupler, accessible from the exterior of the switchgear, directly manipulates the circuit breaker into disengagement and also allows physical manipulation of the circuit breaker. By having the decoupler and tool interface in the same device, this removes the need to open the arc covers, negating arc resistance.

Elevator Fixture Magnetic Slide Latch and Control Box Equipped Therewith

An elevator call box with internal, concealable latching mechanism comprises an internally disposed, cylindrical magnetic pin with a relatively low pull force that is slidably displaceable by an larger, external magnetic force supplied by a service technician. When the access door is closed, magnetic pin penetrates an orifice in a locking tab to lock the call box. The pin magnet is normally attracted to an adjacent, magnetically attractive clip snap-fitted to a latching block. The latch is externally disengaged via a stronger portable magnet carried by service personnel. The larger magnetic pull force of the portable magnet slidably displaces the smaller magnetic latch pin, freeing the locking tab to permit pivotal opening of the access door. Once the stronger magnet is moved away, the smaller magnetic pin, which is attracted magnetically to the clip, will return to it's rest position penetrating the locking tab and locking the control.

A dual interlock system for electrical equipment enclosures having at least two isolated compartments. The interlock includes a dual function interlock mechanism that prevents a serviceable equipment compartment door from being opened while a local disconnect device located in an adjacent isolated compartment is in the ON state. The dual interlock system also prevents the local disconnect device from unintentionally being moved from an OFF state to the ON state while the serviceable equipment door is open.

A locking system includes a tamper-resistant lock and key. The tamper-resistant lock includes a cylindrical lock body with external threading on at least a portion thereof and a bore extending into an end of the cylindrical lock body. The bore includes an engagement feature disposed on the wall that defines the bore, and the engagement feature is disposed a particular distance away from the bore opening. The key includes a collar that has a cylindrical key body that fits within the bore of the cylindrical lock body. The cylindrical key body also includes an opening defined by the collar sidewall, a retractable engagement member at least partially disposed within the opening, a spring disposed within the collar, and a plunger disposed within the collar that is operable to engage the spring and has a recess sized and shaped to accommodate the retractable engagement member.

The disclosed invention ensures safe operation of an electrical switchgear by preventing an operator from contacting or interacting with an active circuit breaker. One way this is accomplished is through a locking system that prevents a door to the interior of the switchgear from opening until the circuit breaker is in a disengaged position. A second way this is accomplished is by a manipulation restriction system that prevents the circuit breaker from being manually moved unless the door is closed. Another way this is accomplished is by a circuit breaker decoupler, accessible from the exterior of the switchgear that can directly manipulate the circuit breaker into disengagement.
