Cooler lock

A cooler access control system locks a cooler when occurrence of an event is detected that requires limiting access to the inside of the cooler. Examples of such events include the loss of power to the cooler for a predetermined period of time, the opening of the cooler door for longer than an allowed time, the loss of functionality of a temperature probe and others. In an embodiment, a service mode is supported wherein the door is left unlocked despite the occurrence of such an event, to allow a stocker or other personnel to leave the cooler door open while stocking the cooler with product.

A security apparatus for a portable electronic device includes a lock mechanism. A lock cylinder is configured to be rotated by a key. A cam member is coupled to the lock cylinder for rotation with the lock cylinder between an engaged position and a disengaged position. A first finger and a second finger are configured to be inserted into an aperture of the portable electronic device. The plunger is positioned between the first finger and the second finger. A user input member coupled to the plunger is selectively actuatable to move the plunger relative to the first and second fingers. When the cam member is in the engaged position, the user input member is precluded from moving from a first position to a second position. When the cam member is in the disengaged position, the user input member is capable of moving from the first position to the second position.

Security apparatus for the functional display of portable electronic devices

A security apparatus for securing a portable electronic device comprises a support and a guide positioned within the support and defining a plurality of surface features. At least two holders are partially positioned between the guide and the support and define a plurality of complimentary surface features. A lock assembly is configured move between an unlocked state and a locked state. In an unlocked state, the at least two holders are enabled to move in a first direction that is away from the support and in an opposing second direction to move the at least two holders towards the support. In a locked state, the lock assembly moves the guide to clamp the at least two holders between the guide and the support to engage the surface features of the guide with those of the holders and inhibit movement of the at least two holders in the first direction.

A security apparatus for a portable electronic device comprises at least one support member comprising opposing side surfaces and a plurality of support member surface features. At least one of the opposing side surfaces comprises a first engagement structure. One of the at least two arms comprises a second engagement structure configured to slidably engage the first engagement structure allowing movement in a first direction and opposing second direction. At least one locking assembly is positioned on at least one of the at least two arms and comprises a plurality of lock surface features configured to couple to the plurality of support member surface features. In a locked position, the at least one of the at least two arms is enabled to slide in the first direction. In an unlocked position, the at least one of the at least two arms is enabled to slide in the second direction.

In an unlocked state, the at least two holders are enabled to move in a first direction that is away from the support and in an opposing second direction to move the at least two holders towards the support. In a locked state, the lock assembly moves the guide to clamp the at least two holders between the guide and the support to engage the surface features of the guide with those of the holders and inhibit movement of the at least two holders in the first direction.

A lock assembly for preventing theft of an electronic mobile device (EMD) is configured to engage a security cavity formed in the 2 mm thick outer wall of the EMD. The security cavity has left and right outwardly-flaring side walls extending away from the opening. The lock body supports first and second locking elements, each of which is configured to be insertable into the security cavity and has an arcuately-shaped side wall that is complementary in shape to the right/left outwardly flaring side wall of the security cavity. The first and second locking elements cooperate structurally to become wedged inside the security cavity in manner that prevents separation of the lock body from the EMD while the first and second locking elements are positioned inside the security cavity. Preferably, the arcuately-shaped sides of the locking elements extend over an arc angle of 180 degrees. A cable is coupled to the lock body to enable tethering the EMD to an immovable object, to prevent its theft.

Computing device security cable

A security cable can include a restraining cable and a lock unit attached to the restraining cable. The lock unit can be configured to removably fasten to a computing device. The lock unit can be further configured to switch the security cable between a first configuration and a second configuration. In the first configuration, the lock unit can be fastened to the computing device and can place the computing device in an inactive state. In the second configuration, the lock unit can be removable from the computing device and may not place the computing device in the inactive state.
