A vehicle door lock apparatus (1) includes latch and actuating housings (9, 7) that are fixed between outer and inner panels (3, 4) of a vehicle door (2). A connector fitting section (80C) is exposed through an open window (4H) in the inner panel (4) toward a vehicle interior side of the inner panel (4). A movable member (50) includes a second end (52) that projects out of the actuating housing (7), passes through an opening (80H) in the actuating housing (7) and also passes through the open window (4H) toward the vehicle interior side, where it is coupled to a link member (C3). The connector fitting section (80C) and the opening (80H) are covered by a single umbrella-shaped blocking member (89) that contacts the actuating housing (7) and the inner panel (4) around at least an upper side of the peripheral edge of the open window (4H).

Door handle assembly for a motor vehicle

A door handle assembly for a motor vehicle door includes a handle base to be secured to the door, a grip cover coupled to the handle base, an inductive proximity sensor, configured to produce an sensor signal, mounted to the grip cover opposite a portion of an outer surface of the grip cover defining a detection surface thereon, and an electrically conductive layer disposed on an inner surface of the grip cover, opposite the detection surface, and spaced apart from the inductive proximity sensor, the inductive proximity sensor producing a detectable change in the sensor signal upon detection of a deflection of the portion of the grip cover defining the detection surface sufficient to move the electrically conductive layer to within a detection proximity of the inductive proximity sensor, the detectable change in the sensor signal enabling the door handle to lock or unlock.

Electrostatic sensor and door handle

An electrostatic sensor includes a detection electrode, a shield electrode provided in a periphery of the detection electrode, a first power supply coupled to the detection electrode and configured to generate an AC voltage having a first amplitude, a second power supply coupled to the shield electrode and configured to generate an AC voltage having a second amplitude, a measuring device configured to measure a quantity of charge flowing from the first power supply to the detection electrode, and a control device coupled to the measuring device. The AC voltages generated by the first and second power supplies have the same frequency and the same phase. The second amplitude is larger than the first amplitude. A detection target on a side of a detection surface is detected based on a change in an electrostatic capacitance between the detection electrode and the detection target.

Motor-driven control for a flush door handle and method for operating it

A handle mechanism includes a handle and control mechanism. The handle is movable between a rest position flush with the door and a working position projecting therefrom. The control mechanism includes a first lever, a second lever, a tie-rod having ends linked to the first lever and the second lever according to hinged linkages at least one of which has a first oblong aperture parallel to the tie-rod, a device for elastically biasing the handle towards the rest position, a cam, a rod linking the cam to the tie-rod and including a pin. The tie-rod further includes a second oblong aperture parallel to the first oblong aperture and through which the pin of the rod extends in order to make the handle slide from the working position to the rest position in a motor-driven way through an over-travel of the cam when the elastic biasing device are not sufficient.
