Modular automotive side body storage assembly
A modular side storage assembly for use on automotive bodies includes at least one door storage compartment module and at least one rear fender storage compartment module. The door storage compartment module has an internal sidewall, a horizontal base, and a curved external sidewall, joined with a rearward facing sidewall. The curved external sidewall meets the internal sidewall and forms a curved forward facing sidewall. A hinged hatch is attached to the external sidewall. The rear fender storage compartment module has an internal sidewall, a horizontal base, and a curved external sidewall joined by a forward facing sidewall. The curved external sidewall meets the internal sidewall and forms a curved rearward facing sidewall. An assembly includes front and rear door storage compartments; front fender guards; marker lights; a lockable storage panel cap and an antenna mount; and side steps with embedded LEDs. The assemblies are aerodynamic and easy to use.
Sliding latch
The invention is a sliding latch with a bolt sliding in and out of a primary housing from a closed condition to an open condition on a sled that also slides in the housing. A spring biases the bolt to extend out of the housing to the closed condition. The bolt can be moved to an open condition by an electric motor mounted on the sled that rotates a threaded member to move a nut in a cavity in the bolt that pulls the bolt against the spring bias. The bolt can also be moved to an open condition by a force directly on the bolt against the spring bias. The bolt can also be moved to an open condition by a force pulling on the sled to move the sled and nut so the nut pulls the bolt against the spring bias to an open condition.
Front Lid Latch Apparatus for Vehicle
An embodiment front lid latch apparatus for a vehicle includes a pawl lever movable between an engaging position and a disengaging position by a first actuator, a latch lever assembly movable between a first hold position and a first releasable position by a movement of the pawl lever, a safety lever movable between a second hold position and a second releasable position by a second actuator, and an emergency lever operatively connected to the pawl lever and the safety lever, and movable between a first position and a second position by a manually operable emergency release cable.
TAILGATE LOCK ASSEMBLY
A system for securing a tailgate to a vehicle body includes a housing secured to one of the tailgate and the vehicle body, the housing including a passageway. A projection is secured to the other of the tailgate and the vehicle body and is rotatably received by the housing in an attached state to rotatably attach the tailgate to the vehicle body and is separated from the housing in a detached state to permit removal of the tailgate from the vehicle body. The system also includes a locking mechanism operable in a locked state to block the passageway and prevent movement of the projection from the attached state to the detached state and an unlocked state opening the passageway to permit movement of the projection from the attached state to the detached state.

Universal tailgate latch and support
A universal tailgate latch and support system for receiving a commonly available latching mechanism. The latch housing secures the latch to the side of a vehicle cargo bed and allows the cargo door to be supported with a cable or the like when open and secured when closed. The housing may be modified to fit a variety of latches and lends itself to restoring a variety of new or vintage truck beds.

Blocking mechanism for preventing the opening of tail gates and related rear doors on light trucks and SUVS
A blocking mechanism for preventing the opening of a tail gate on a vehicle having a hitch member, the blocking mechanism comprising a triangularly shaped frame having two horizontal members and two diagonal members, wherein each of the two diagonal members include an upper and lower end and each of the two horizontal members include a proximal and distal end; the lower ends of the two diagonal members are rotationally connected to a connecting bracket and the upper ends are attached to angled brackets, wherein the connecting member is attached to hitch member; the distal ends of the two horizontal members are attached to the angled brackets and the proximal ends are joined via a pair of connection elements; and a padlock is configured to lock the pair of connection elements.
KEY-OPERATED UNLOCKING OF AUTOMOTIVE POWER-OPERATED KEY-CYLINDER-LESS DOOR LOCKS
A motor vehicle comprising side doors, a bonnet and a boot lid, power-operated key-cylinder-less locks associated with all the side doors, a power-operated lock associated with the boot lid, a key-cylinder lock associated with the bonnet, and an electronic control system configured to sense operation of the key-cylinder lock by means of a mechanical key and, upon determining a specific operation of the key-cylinder lock by means of a mechanical key, responsively unlock one or more of the power-operated key-cylinder-less locks.
