A latch assembly for a door is provided. The latch assembly includes a latch keep carried by one of the door and the surrounding structure and having a strike seat in which a strike may be removably received, a latch carried by the other of the door and the surrounding structure and having a catch configured to engage the strike, and a cable having a first portion secured to the other of the door and the surrounding structure and a second portion carrying the strike.

ROLL-FORM TIE BAR AND GUIDE FOR CASEMENT WINDOW

A casement window lock and tie bar assembly including a flexible guide pre-formed with an arcuate deflection. The guide receives a tie bar having a c-shaped cross-section. The arcuate deflection of the guide causes the guide to be frictionally held in an initial position on the longitudinal axis of tie bar. When fasteners are tightened to attach the guide to a window frame, the guide is flattened to enable the tie bar to freely slide on the guide.

MULTIPOINT LOCK ASSEMBLY FOR A SWINGING DOOR PANEL
20230399874 · 2023-12-14 · ·

A multipoint lock assembly for a swinging door panel includes a mortise housing that is installed in a mortise along the non-hinged edge of the door panel. A latch operating mechanism and a lock operating mechanism are disposed in the mortise housing. Each of these mechanisms is designed to be operated with a standard rotary operator such as a handle or knob for the latch operating mechanism and a key and/or thumb turn for the lock operating mechanism. The latch operating mechanism is transitionable between left- and right-hand orientations and includes a deadlatch feature that prevents forced back-drive. Turning the key and or thumb turn of the lock operating mechanism extends a deadbolt and extends upper and lower shoot bolts from edges of the door. When extended, the shoot bolts also are secured against forced back-drive by unique mechanism configurations.

Straight action flush lock for casement window and method of operating the same
11118374 · 2021-09-14 · ·

A low profile actuating window lock for casement windows having a longitudinal slot in a sidewall of the casing for the lock, wherein an actuator including a fork component translates within the slot in a direction opposite movement of the handle, the handle pivotable about a restrictor arm that pivots relative to the casing, allowing the handle to rotate from the locked position to the unlocked position with low clearance from the window frame. The pivot points of the handle and restrictor arm configuration allow for an over center linkage that prevents back driving the casement window lock.

A folding system has a bottom guide rail and a top guide rail. A first folding wing and a second folding wing are supported movably in the bottom guide rail and the top guide rail, respectively. The first folding wing has a vertically extending frame section. A lock fitting is arranged in the vertically extending frame section of the first folding wing and has a vertically slidably supported locking pin. A locking gear is connected to the locking pin and can move the locking pin into and out of one of the bottom and top guide rails. A reinforcement pin is arranged parallel to the locking pin in the vertically extending frame section of the first folding wing. The locking pin and the reinforcement pin are connected to each other such that the reinforcement pin is entrained parallel to the locking pin when the locking gear is actuated.

TIE BAR AND GUIDE FOR CASEMENT WINDOW

A tie bar and guide assembly for casement windows having a roll form tie bar that snaps on to the tie bar guide without extending through it. The tie bar has locating openings that engage tabs on the tie bar guide to locate and secure the guide prior to installation. The tabs are depressed and disengaged when fasteners are used to secure the tie bar assembly to the window frame. The tie bar can include rivet locking points located close to the top and bottom of the tie bar to provide better security and increased stability for preventing water and air infiltration. The rivet locking points can be adjustable to optimize the fit of the window sash within the frame. The snap-on design reduces the overall height of the tie bar assembly thereby enabling a closer fit of the sash within the frame and reducing the required width of the window frame needed to accommodate the locking mechanism.
