Locking apparatus, locking member, and method of use
An apparatus and method are provided for controlling access to a space using an improved locking apparatus. The locking apparatus includes a central member having an actuator, a shaft connected to the actuator, at least one cam attached to the shaft, a control circuit configured to control operations of the locking apparatus, and a lifting member configured to be raised or lowered according to a command position. A method is provided for operating a mounted locking apparatus in a locked or unlocked state.
Emergency exit window system
There are provided emergency exit window systems. In one form, there is provided an emergency exit window system that includes: a frame; a sash pivotally carried by the frame so as to pivot between a closed position in which the sash is flush with the frame, and an open position permitting human egress through the frame; and a locking mechanism adapted for locking the window sash in the closed position. The locking mechanism may include a locking arm movably carried by the sash, wherein the locking arm is movable relative to the sash between a lock position and an unlock position. Further, the locking mechanism may include at least one biasing member acting between the locking arm and the sash to bias the locking arm toward the lock position; an inwardly projecting locking catch fixedly carried by the frame; and an inwardly projecting safety guard movably carried by the frame.
Passive door bolt assembly
A bolt assembly for securing a passive door panel relative to an entryway frame. The bolt assembly has a base to be fixedly mounted relative to the passive door panel, a catch attached to the base with a leaf spring to deflect relative to the base, and a bolt which is able to translate relative to the base between a retracted position and an extended position for securing the passive door panel. The bolt is biased toward the extended position and selectively maintained in the retracted position by the catch.
SECURITY DOOR SYSTEM
Methods, systems, and devices for securing a door including a security assembly comprising at least one frame member with a slot. The security assembly may include a blade at least partially received in the slot and an actuator within the cavity. The blade may substantially traverse the length of the edge surface of the door in the closed position and be extendable from the slot toward the edge surface. The actuator may be configured to move the blade between a retracted position and an extended position. The security assembly includes an endcap configured to cover a corresponding edge surface of the door and including an opposing well slot configured to at least partially receive the blade when the blade is in the extended position, and thereby prevent movement of the door.
LOCKING APPARATUSES AND A METHOD OF PROVIDING ACCESS CONTROL
Apparatuses, methods, and systems for providing a locking apparatus for resisting movement of an openable element are described. The locking apparatus includes a body, an actuator, a lifting member, at least a portion of the lifting member being configured to be raised or lowered relative to the body according to an output of the actuator, the lifting member comprising a contact surface configured to restrict movement of the openable element, and a strap coupled to the body and to the lifting member, the strap configured to permit the lifting member to flex based at least in part upon contact between the lifting member and the openable element and to transfer energy received at the lifting member into the body of the locking apparatus into a surface to which the locking apparatus is mounted.
Hinge for saloon-type lavatory door
A hinge assembly that includes a frame adapter having a curved inner surface with a front portion and a rear portion, a door adapter having a curved outer surface with a front portion and a rear portion, at least one front hinge strip that is secured along a front hinge strip path, and at least one rear hinge strip that is secured along a rear hinge strip path. The front hinge strip path extends from the front portion of the curved outer surface of the door adapter to the rear portion of the curved inner surface of the frame adapter. The rear hinge strip path extends from the rear portion of the curved outer surface of the door adapter to the front portion of the curved inner surface of the frame adapter. The curved outer surface of the door adapter opposes the curved inner surface of the frame adapter and the door adapter is movable relative to the frame adapter between a front open position, a closed position and a rear open position.
Wirelessly actuated cover for a structure
A cover is configured to selectively engage with a portion of a structure in response to receiving a wireless electrical power signal at a receiver antenna of the cover from a wireless power source located in an outside environment, to separate a first environment on a first side of the cover from a second environment on a second side of the cover opposite the first side. In response to wirelessly receiving the electrical power signal, a fastening subassembly of the cover changes from a secured mode configured to inhibit opening a cover body with respect to the structure, to an unsecured mode configured to facilitate opening the cover body with respect to the structure. This in turn allows the cover to be matingly engaged with a portion of the structure to form a smooth continuous surface, without any exposed fasteners on the exterior side of the cover.
FLIGHT DECK SECURITY POCKET DOOR DECOMPRESSION VENTING AND CREW ESCAPE SYSTEM
A locking mechanism for a door panel to be positioned within and out of blocking relationship with an opening. Mechanism includes a deadbolt rotatably connected to the wall and having a curved configuration and a locking bracket connected to the door panel. The locking bracket extends from the door panel in an angular direction with respect to a plane of door panel. With door panel in a closed position and deadbolt in a first position, the locking bracket extends through the curved configuration. Deadbolt is in blocking relationship with the locking bracket in a direction along a plane of the door panel and is not in blocking relationship in a direction along the locking bracket. With door panel in closed position, deadbolt is in a second position not in blocking relationship with the locking bracket permitting door panel to move in a direction along a plane of the door panel.
Locking apparatuses and a method of providing access control
Locking apparatuses and methods are provided for controlling access to a space using an improved locking apparatus. The locking apparatus includes a body, an actuator, and a lifting member, at least a portion of the lifting member being configured to be raised or lowered relative to the body according to a command position. The locking apparatus further includes a lifting mechanism configured to receive an output of the actuator and to raise or lower the lifting member responsive to the actuator output, and an adjustment member configured to contact the body and the lifting member. A manual operation-based locking apparatus is provided which uses a foot pedal to lock or unlock the locking apparatus. A method is provided for operating a mounted locking apparatus in a locked or unlocked state.
