An illumination system is provided for an access door may include an elongated illumination housing configured to be coupled to at least one of an upstanding jamb and a corresponding jamb casing extending along the one side of the access door, an elongated light transmissive cover coupled to the illumination housing, an elongated light pipe received within the illumination housing, an illumination source housing operatively coupled to one end of the light pipe, an illumination source disposed within the illumination source housing and configured to produce and transmit visible light into the light pipe so as to be visible through the light transmissive cover, a source of electrical power, and a control unit configured to selectively apply electrical power from the source of electrical power to the illumination source to produce the visible light.

MAGNETIC DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD

A magnetic door lock control system for use with an egress handle system and a door is provided. The magnetic door lock control system employs magnets that communicate with one another across the door jamb thereby eliminating the need for a hard wired electrical connection between the egress handle system (e.g., a mechanical switch bar) configured with a door and a door locking mechanism mounted above the door in the header of the entranceway. In this way, the need for an electrical wire loop between the egress handles and the door locking mechanism is eliminated.

STOPPER DEVICE

A stopper device includes: a stopper that has an abutting part located at a distal end of a tubular part in the axial direction, and a through-hole penetrating through the abutting part and communicating with the inside of the tubular part; and a screw that has a flange-shaped screw head accommodated in the tubular part, and a shaft projecting toward a proximal end side of the tubular part in the axial direction. The tubular part has a first restricting part that restricts movement of the stopper toward the distal end in the axial direction by being engaged with the screw head. The position of the stopper in the axial direction is changed by inserting a tool in the tubular part through the through-hole and rotating the screw.

Magnetic Fastener

An item may be provided with a body that forms an enclosure. The body (12) may have body portions (16, 18) that open and close along a seam (14). An elongated magnetic fastener (36) may run along the seam. The magnetic fastener may have first (38) and second (40) portions on opposing sides of the seam. The first and second portions may include magnets. When the magnetic fastener is operated in a closed state, the magnets in the first and second portions attract each other and pull the first and second portions of the fastener together to close the seam. When the magnetic fastener is operated in an open state, the magnets in the first and second portions repel each other and push the first and second portions of the fastener apart to open the seam.

MAGNETIC CLOSURE SYSTEM FOR A DEVICE

An improved method and system for providing a magnetic closure system for an electronic device (100) may include a first portion (130), a second portion (150), a connecting element (145) pivotally connecting the first portion to the second portion and configured to enable the electronic device to fold between a closed position and an open position, and a magnetic element (160, 165) for providing a closure force to bias the electronic device in the closed position. The magnetic element may include a first magnet pair and a second magnet pair, each of the first magnet pair and second magnet pair including a first magnet housed within the first portion and a second magnet housed within the second portion. The first magnet pair may provide an attractive magnetic force that biases the electronic device in the closed position, while the second magnet pair may provide a repelling magnetic force that partially counteracts the biasing from the attractive magnetic force as a gap between the first portion and the second portion decreases, and a pole size of the second magnet pair is smaller than a pole size of the first magnet pair.

Oven door opening magnetic hinge

A hinge for rotatably coupling an appliance door with an appliance body includes an input arm affixable with the body and a housing affixable within the door and coupled with the input arm so as to be rotatable through a range of motion between a closed position and an open position. The hinge further includes a spring engaged between the housing and the input arm and deformable to apply a balancing torque to the housing relative to the input arm and a first magnet coupled with one of the housing and the input arm and magnetically applying a closing torque between the housing relative and the input arm when the housing is within a predetermined range of the closed position.

Container assembly with a magnetic locking mechanism

A container assembly is provided with a container and a lid, with the lid cooperating with the container to enclose the interior of the container. A magnetic member is supported by the lid or the container for transverse movement between a first position and a second position. When the lid is cooperatively associated with the container, the magnetic member is in the first position and inhibits movement of the lid along a longitudinal axis of the container to lock the container. With the magnetic member in the second position, the lid is moveable along the longitudinal axis to open the container.
