Building lockdown system
A lockdown system for use in a building including multiple rooms with doors providing access to the rooms, the lockdown system including: at least one room lockdown component provided in each of a plurality of the rooms, the room lockdown components comprising door-securing devices that are external of the doors and, in a deployed condition of the room lockdown components, are manually positioned inside said rooms to oppose inward movement of the doors and thereby block or secure the doors, the room lockdown components further characterized by a non-deployed condition in which the door-securing devices are positioned at storage locations inside the rooms, and wherein further each room lockdown component is operative to automatically signal initiation of a lockdown event when its door-securing device has been moved from its storage location; and at least one communication device operative to receive the signaled initiation of a lockdown event when any one or more of the door-securing devices have been moved from their storage locations, and to provide an alert notification of the initiation of the lockdown event.
Locking device to prevent opening of a door/doors
A locking device intended to prevent opening of a door/doors includes a body, which is capable of being coupled immovably to a door handle and prevents opening of a door/doors. The body is provided with a coupling arrangement adjustable with adjustment elements for locking the handle against an external surface of the door by being propped immovably on a vertical frame member of the door or on a handle of the adjacent door.
Panel Door Lockout
A lockout device is able to secure a door on a panel. The lockout device includes a housing and a flexible line. The housing has a first mounting portion adapted for securement to one side of the panel and the flexible line has on one end thereof a second mounting portion adapted for securement to another side of the panel from the first mounting portion. The housing further supports at least one line engagement element, and the flexible line extends through at least a portion of the housing including the at least one line engagement element for selective engagement therewith. In use, the mounting portions may be affixed or attached to opposing sides or edges of the panel, the flexible line drawn taut, and the line engagement element(s) of the housing used to engage the flexible line to hold it in position with respect to the housing.
Security device for sliding door or sliding window assembly
A security device can be provided to selectively restrict or prevent the opening of a sliding door, sliding window, or other sliding panel or other closure. For example, the security device can include a base plate that selectively engages a barricade member (or lock rail). While the barricade member is engaged with the base plate (in a locked state), the barricade member and base plate cooperate to restrict or prevent the sliding door, window, panel or other closure from moving to an open position (or moving out of a closed position). The barricade member can be moved relative to the base plate (to an unlocked state) to allow unrestricted movement of the sliding door, window, panel or other closure. The security device can include stop members that may restrict or prevent complete removal of the barricade member from the base plate.
CHILD SAFETY LOCK
A child safety lock for a cupboard or drawer comprising a movable door or drawer and a fixed frame member, the safety lock comprising: a latch member, rail attachment member, a fixing screw and a catch member, the latch part to be fitted on a surface of the fixed frame member, by means of the rail attachment member and the fixing screw; the latch member including a laterally extending tongue, and the rail attachment member including a groove housing comprising a receiving groove to receive the tongue by sliding the tongue into the groove thus retaining the latch part and the rail attachment means together, and a through hole centrally in the tongue such that when tongue is located in the groove the fixing screw may be screwed through the through hole and into the groove housing this securing the latch part to the rail attachment member, the safety lock also including a C-shaped clamp with opposing clamp sides and a connecting base to fit around the fixed frame member and the rail attachment means.
Apparatus for barricading an outward swinging door to provide physical security
A system to barricade a door from forced entry is disclosed. The system includes an anchor insertable by a user into a receptacle mounted into a floor on the inside on the door, and a lock affixable to the door. The anchor includes an upper portion designed to connect with the lock, and a lower portion that preferably fits within the receptacle. The lock includes a stop designed to contact the outside surface of the door, and a key plate on the inside of the door. When the anchor is vertically inserted into the receptacle, the upper portion of the anchor engages the key plate of the lock affixed to the door, which in conjunction with the stop prevents the door from swinging outwards. The anchor can be removed from the receptacle when the user doesn't desire to barricade the door.
Pre-hung door and casing retention device
A pre-hung door and casing retention device and a method of latching and unlatching a pre-hung door and casing. The door includes a tubular body configured to be receivable in a door lock cylinder opening and a door latch opening. A male portion has an extending post with a plurality of teeth extending from at least one side of said post, the male portion receivable in a latch bolt opening and the door latch opening. An elongated engagement portion has a first end fastened in the tubular body, an opposed second end extending from the tubular portion and a protrusion engaging teeth on the male portion when inserted into the tubular portion and wherein the protrusion is disengaged from the teeth when a withdrawal force is exerted on the engagement portion.
Supplemental Locking Device for a Cargo Caontainer
A supplemental locking device particularly suited for use on a cargo container. The device consists of a three-sided channel, made of heavy-gauge steel that fits over the locking mechanism of a cargo container capable of being slipped over this locking system with the aid of oval cut slots on the sides that accommodate any horizontal members.
BUILDING LOCKDOWN SYSTEM
