GLASS ARTICLE WITH A LIVING HINGE
20220306523 · 2022-09-29 ·

Disclosed herein are glass articles and methods of manufacturing the same. The glass articles may include a glass layer comprising a first portion having a first thickness, a second portion having a second thickness, and a third portion disposed in between the first portion and the second portion. The third portion may form a living hinge. The living hinge may comprise a plurality of indentations such that a majority of the third portion has a third thickness that is less than the first thickness and the second thickness. In addition, the living hinge may comprise a plurality of protrusions such that a majority of the third portion has a third thickness that is greater than the first thickness and the second thickness.

A hinge mechanism and mattress for use with a child containment device. A first mattress panel is pivotally coupled to a second mattress panel by a hinge mechanism, and is thereby convertible between an expanded configuration and a collapsed configuration. The hinge mechanism defines a limit point beyond which pivotal motion is prevented in at least one direction.

NON-PLANAR CLOSED-LOOP HINGE MECHANISM WITH ROLLING-CONTACT HINGE

A hinged mechanism includes: panels; and hinges connecting respective pairs of the panels to each other in a closed loop so that the hinged mechanism is non-planar, wherein at least one of the hinges is a rolling-contact hinge. All of the hinges can be rolling-contact hinges. The closed-loop hinged mechanism can comprise at least four hinges, each of the at least four hinges being a sole connection between a respective adjacent pair of the panels. A cross section of rolling surfaces of the rolling-contact hinge can be circular. A cross section of rolling surfaces of the rolling-contact hinge can be non-circular.

Method for freeing a micromechanical part and a micromechanical part comprising sacrificial fasteners

A method for fabricating a micromechanical part from a substrate in which the part is fabricated by providing a plurality of fasteners between the part and the substrate, the fasteners being sacrificial, characterized in that the fasteners include at least one hinge at the end of each fastener located beside the part, and in that the method includes a step of breaking the sacrificial fasteners. The micromechanical parts employing this type of sacrificial fastener are also described.

The present invention relates to a door frame, particularly a door frame for a pre-hung door assembly, which is foldable to minimize storage space and to allow for enhanced logistic efficiencies. The door frame contains parallel, spaced apart, vertical jambs and a horizontal header connecting the top ends of the jambs. Each of the jambs and the horizontal header contains a front section and back section that are hingedly joined so that then can be folded on to each other. The hingedly joined front and back sections allow the door fame to be foldable to minimize space occupied during storage.

A hinge for use in a billboard framing system comprising a stationary plate and a rotating plate. The hinge has a curved recess and motion limiting track in the stationary plate that retain a mating feature on the rotating plate. A load distribution feature on the first plate conforms to and contacts an exterior surface on the rotating plate in the open position.

Hinge and hinge roll

A hinge for connecting a first pivoting body to a second pivoting body in a relatively pivotable manner includes a sheet body configured to attach a first end of the sheet body to the first pivoting body, and to attach a second end of the sheet body to the second pivoting body. The sheet body includes a plurality of layered sheet members, and a pivot shaft between layered sheet members of the plurality of layered sheet members to allow the first end and the second end of the sheet body to pivot relative to each other. The pivot shaft includes a soft resin part between the layered sheet members.
