Electronic device with hinge and corresponding systems and methods
An electronic device includes a first device housing and a second device housing. A hinge couples the first device housing to the second device housing. The first device housing is pivotable about the hinge relative to the second device housing. The hinge includes a cam, which can be shaped like the head of a cat. A first follower is biased against a first side of the cat head shaped cam by a first spring disposed between the first follower and the first device housing. A second follower is biased against a second side of the cat head shaped cam by a second spring disposed between the second follower and the second device housing.
Automated Secure Door for Robotic Mower
A doorway system for a robotic vehicle that accesses a separated area through a barrier that has a doorway formed through it. The system includes a wireless transmitter that transmits an electronic signal from the robotic vehicle, and a door movably disposed within the doorway, between a closed position and an open position. A doorway device with a wireless receiver that is coupled to a locking mechanism is configured to selectively engage and lock the door at the closed position, and unlock the door upon receipt of the electronic signal by the wireless receiver. Movement of the robotic vehicle toward the doorway device enables communication of the electronic signal from the wireless transmitter to the wireless receiver. Upon passage of the robotic vehicle through the doorway to the separated area, and return of the door to the closed position, the controller controls the locking mechanism to engage and lock the door.
System and method for inhibiting window sash drift
A system and method for inhibiting inadvertent movement of a window sash out of a fully open position. Brake shoes travel in the guide tracks as the window sash is moved between a fully open position and a fully closed position. A stop is mounted within the guide tracks. The brake shoe and the stop contact and interconnect when the window sash is moved to its fully open position. The brake shoe is separable from the stop when a closing force is manually applied to the window sash that acts to move the window sash away from its fully open position. The force applied must exceed a threshold level. In this manner, the window sash will remain in its fully open position and will not inadvertently drift closed due to gravity, vibrations or contact with another window sash.
Kitchen oven
According to one embodiment, an oven includes an oven chamber operable to be heated and having a front opening. The oven further includes a frame coupled to and at least partially surrounding the oven chamber. The oven further includes a door operable to seal the front opening of the oven chamber, and a pair of hinges pivotally coupling the door to the frame. Each hinge is positioned on opposing sides of the oven chamber. The oven further includes a pair counterweights that are each coupled to the rear portion of a respective hinge, and a pair of dampers. Each damper is coupled to the frame and operable to resist movement of the door in a single direction opposite that of the other damper.

Latch and release mechanisms for waste containers
A latch is usable for latching and automatically unlatching a lid operative to close a bin of a waste container. The latch includes a release weight that is moveable responsive to gravity from a first position to a second position to cause the latch to disengage from a release mechanism when the latch is rotated to one or more angular positions in a dump angular orientation. The latch and release mechanism are held in latched engagement when release slide bolts and latch slide bolts are engaged in extended positions. Movement of the release weight causes the latch slide bolts to move to retracted positions to enable disengagement of the release slide bolts and latch slide bolts. A release knob is operative responsive to manual movement in two different directions to enable the latch and release slide bolts to disengage.
SECURITY FOR GRATE COVERING UNDERGROUND AIR VENTS
Apparatus and process for securing a grating over an atmospheric opening of a ventilation shaft fluidly communicating through the ventilation shaft to an underground ventilation duct. A vertically extending support for arrangement in the shaft has horizontal flanges for projecting across a top of at least two opposing sides of said shaft to hang said support in said shaft for over topping by said grating. An anchoring member is supported in the support at a level below the flanges and proximate the atmospheric opening. A hold-down connects to the anchoring member to secure the hold-down and the grating to the anchoring member.
TRAVEL ASSISTANCE DEVICE AND SLIDING DOOR DEVICE PROVIDED WITH SAME
A travel assistance device includes a first rail inclined downward from a first end portion side to a second end portion side in longitudinal direction, a second rail provided parallel to the first rail and inclined, in opposite direction to the first rail, downward from the second end portion to the first end portion in the longitudinal direction, a holding member having a runner portion slidably guided by the rails and holding a travelling body, and a switch mechanism configured to be switched between a state in which the runner portion is guided by the first rail and is assisted to travel downward on the first rail by a load applied to the runner portion and a state in which the runner portion is guided by the second rail and is assisted to travel downward on the second rail by the load applied to the runner portion.

Hinge device
A hinge device 1 comprises a damper hinge 2 and a gravity hinge 3. The gravity hinge 3 comprises a rotational force imparting mechanism 70 for converting gravity of the door 6 to rotational force to a closing direction when the door 6 rotates to the closing direction. The damper hinge 2 comprises a damper mechanism 30 for reducing the rotational force to the closing direction of the door 6. The damper mechanism 30 includes a linear damper 31 disposed to the first hinge member 10 and a first cam member 32 and includes a second cam member 35 disposed to the second hinge member 20. The linear damper 31 is positioned far from the shaft member 40 in an orthogonal direction to a shaft line of the shaft member 40 and is positioned along the shaft member 40. When the door 6 rotates to the closing direction and goes down, the linear damper 31 is shortened along with a cam action of the first cam member 32 and the second cam member 35.
