In one aspect, an in-vehicle device is provided that includes a sensor configured to detect a vehicle characteristic indicative of the vehicle being in proximity to a location associated with a movable barrier operator. The in-vehicle device includes communication circuitry to communicate an open command to the movable barrier operator that causes the movable barrier operator to open a movable barrier connected to the movable barrier operator. A memory is configured to store a vehicle arrival condition indicative of whether the vehicle arrived at the location associated with the movable barrier operator. A processor is configured to determine satisfaction of the vehicle arrival condition and, upon the vehicle arrival condition not being satisfied, cause the communication circuitry to communicate a close command to the movable barrier operator that causes the movable barrier operator to close the movable barrier.

An automatic smoke/carbon monoxide evacuation system for a garage equipped with a garage door and garage door opener with a motor is provided. The system includes a microprocessor, and a smoke/carbon monoxide sensor incorporated in a garage door reverse sensor of the garage door opener and coupled to the microprocessor, and configured to detect presence of smoke/carbon monoxide and send a trigger signal to the microprocessor in response to detecting smoke/carbon monoxide. The system further includes a power switch coupled to the motor and configured to automatically connect the motor to a power source in response to the trigger signal to automatically open the garage door to ventilate the detected smoke/carbon monoxide in response to the trigger signal. An alarm device is communicably coupled to the microprocessor and is configured to issue an alarm in response to the trigger signal.

USER INTERFACE UNIT

A user interface unit for an automatic door drive comprises a display unit for outputting output information and a control element arrangement for capturing input information. The user interface unit, together with the door drive, is mountable in a first spatial position and in a second spatial position on a door that is drivable by the door drive. The control element arrangement comprises a first control element and a second control element, wherein the first control element is arranged in the first spatial position of the user interface unit on the same spatial side of the control element arrangement as the second control element in the second spatial position. The display unit is designed to display the displayed output information in the same spatial orientation in both the first spatial position and the second spatial position of the user interface unit. In addition, the user interface unit is designed to capture the same input information in the first spatial position with the first control element as with the second control element in the second spatial position.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETECTING VEHICLE DOOR CLOSING EVENTS

The disclosed computer-implemented method may include receiving sensor data associated with a mobile device associated with a vehicle, wherein the sensor data includes at least one of an angular velocity vector, a linear acceleration vector, and a rotational acceleration vector recorded over a period of time, determining an event signature based on the sensor data, and detecting a door closing event associated with the vehicle based at least in part on the event signature. Rotating the first gear in a first rotational direction causes the first gear to pull the slidable segment in a first linear direction as the first gear walks along the first gear track. Rotating the first gear in a second rotational direction causes the first gear to pull the slidable segment in a second linear direction as the first gear walks along the first gear track.
