10100567 · 2018-10-16 · ·

A new door system and related technology for a passenger carrying rail vehicle, such as a President's Conference Committee (PCC) streetcar rail vehicle, and a method for retrofitting a rail vehicle door system with the new door system. In some embodiments, the new door system includes an electro-mechanical angle drive motor, a solid door control pivot rod, a door leaf panel clamp that is permanently connected to the solid door control pivot rod, a lever arm that includes a positive locking device and that is coupled to the solid door control pivot rod, and a connecting rod that is attached to the electro-mechanical angle drive motor and to the lever arm to enable the connecting rod to impart motion generated by the electro-mechanical angle drive motor to the lever arm.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE VEHICLE HAVING A SWING DOOR AND MODIFICATION METHODS THEREFOR

To permit wheelchair access, a door assembly of an OEM vehicle may be modified with a replacement door hinge that increases the door swing angle while maintaining clearances between door and a front door assembly, the vehicle body, and a wheelchair ramp installed in the door opening. To preserve the door's OEM closed position, the replacement door hinge (when in the closed position) may match the geometry between the OEM hinge's door and vehicle connection points. Additionally or alternatively, the door assembly may be modified to include a powered door opening assembly comprising a slider block configured with a motor to reciprocate along a width of the door and a connecting rod pivotally coupled between the vehicle and the slider block.

PASSENGER CUBICLE ASSEMBLY

A passenger cubicle assembly including a door, a door support assembly having a sliding mechanism, the sliding mechanism arranged to support the door such that the door is translatable relative to the door support assembly along a first axis; a wall containing the door support assembly, the wall having an opening sized to permit translation of the door through the opening; wherein the door support assembly is moveable into the opening and, while in the opening, the door support assembly is rotatable about a rotation axis perpendicular to the first axis.

Adapted power window switch assembly and retrofit kit

A mechanical adaptation to a vehicle power window controls is provided that require less hand/finger coordination and less force to actuate, therefore becoming useful for persons with limited control of their hands (e.g., arthritis, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, and spinal cord injury, among others). A power window control includes four levers, one on each control switch. Two of the levers are long and the other two are shorter. The long levers are provided on the two switches further away from the user (which control the front and rear left side windows). The short levers are attached to the two switches closer to the user (which control the front and rear right side windows). The base of each lever can be attached to the corresponding switch through a heavy-duty double-sided tape, where for flat switches, the lever is attached directly to the switch surface and for contoured switches, an adapter can be provided between the base of the lever and the surface of the power window switch.

SECURITY DEVICES FOR DOORS
20180209187 · 2018-07-26 ·

A door security device for preventing opening of a door. A first device includes a bar that seats against a doorframe on opposite sides of the door and a clamp that clasps a door latch and applies a force to draw the bar against the doorframe while pulling the door latch toward the bar. The door cannot be opened away from the bar. A second device has a bar that seats against a doorframe at the floor with a two plates that extend beneath the door and around to opposite sides of the doorframe. Removable pins or other locks obstruct the plates from sliding along the bar. The bar is tall enough that the door cannot pass over the bar, thus obstructing the door from opening inwardly. A closer cover slides over a mechanical door closing mechanism to be used alone or with the other devices.

Barrier operator feature enhancement

A barrier operator feature enhancement device is designed to provide one or more features found in modern barrier operator devices and to incorporate those features into a previously installed barrier operator system. To facilitate ease of use, the barrier operator feature enhancement device can communicate with a large variety of barrier operators. Such communication may be wireless or wired, depending on the communication protocol implemented by a particular previously installed barrier operator. To facilitate the ease of installation, the device is designed to configure itself to operate with the communication protocol of the previously installed barrier operator. Once configured to be able to communicate with the previously installed barrier operator, the feature enhancement device works with the barrier operator to provide one or more additional features to enhance the capabilities of the previously installed barrier operator.

Automated windows systems and anchors therefor

The invention is an an anchor for attaching an automated window mechanism to a sliding panel of a window. The sliding panel has a border with an outer face generally perpendicular to the window. The anchor includes a base configured to be secured to the outer face. The base and mechanism mount has a first tongue-and-groove component protruding from the base away from the outer face. The anchor also includes a mechanism mount configured to be secured to the automated window mechanism, the mechanism mount having a second tongue-and-groove component protruding therefrom. The first tongue-and-groove component and the second tongue-and-groove components are shaped and aligned to permit the mechanism mount to slide relative to the base in a direction generally perpendicular to the window, and to thereafter hold the mechanism in proper alignment relative to the sliding panel of the window.

Fastening concept for the play-free mounting of adjustment drives in a motor vehicle

The present invention relates to a drive arrangement having a hinge which comprises a first hinge arm and a second hinge arm which can be rotated with respect to the first hinge arm about a hinge axis, wherein the first hinge arm is arranged by means of a bolt on a support means which is provided to support a torque when the hinge arms are rotated relative to one another, in that the bolt engages through an aperture in the first hinge arm and is fixed by means of an elastic press fit in a through-hole of the support means. The present invention additionally relates to a motor vehicle having such a drive arrangement, to a bolt for such a drive arrangement, and to a method for mounting the drive arrangement.

TRANSMISSION DEVICE FOR INSTALLATION ON A DRIVESHAFT

A transmission device for installation on a driveshaft, having a base body which encloses the driveshaft, a pinion which in the mounted state is arranged in the base body and on the driveshaft, and a rack which interacts with the pinion and runs through the base body. The transmission device is distinguished by the fact that the base body is open on one side in such a way that it can be fitted onto a driveshaft in the radial direction, and in that the pinion is in multiple parts such that it is possible to perform a mounting process on the driveshaft during which the parts of the pinion can be joined together by a radial movement with respect to the driveshaft.
