Device for closing a hinged member
A closing device includes an actuator mechanism and a hydraulic damper mechanism. The actuator mechanism includes a pushrod urged by a resilient member towards its extended position. The hydraulic damper mechanism includes a piston, a first rack and pinion gearing for converting the translational motion of the pushrod into a rotational motion of a first pinion, a transmission, which includes a second rack and pinion gearing, between the first pinion and the piston for transmitting and converting the rotational motion of the first pinion into a translational motion of the piston, a one-way valve allowing fluid flow from a first side to a second side of the cylinder cavity when opening the hinged member, and a restricted fluid passage between the first and second sides of the cylinder cavity. The transmission provides together with the pinions of the first and second rack and pinion gearings a reduction gearing between the pushrod and the piston so that the piston reciprocates over a smaller distance than the pushrod.
Vertical Pivoting Gate Operator
A vertical pivoting gate operator for positioning a gate between an open position and a closed position is provided. The gate operator includes a motor drive assembly including a motor and a linkage assembly mechanically connecting a motor output to the gate such that in response to actuation of the motor, the linkage assembly transmits an opening force to positioning the gate toward the open position, and a closing force, for positioning the gate toward the closed position. A counterbalance assembly including a biasing member is operable to release stored energy against an input link to rotate a gate arm shaft so as to urge the gate toward the open position and to increase stored energy in response to rotation of the gate traveling toward the closed position to act against the gate as it approaches the closed position.
PASSAGE BARRIER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A PASSAGE BARRIER
A passage barrier includes two guide elements that cooperate such that they define a gate region, through which a person passes from an entrance region into a passage region. The passage barrier has a drive with a drive unit and an output unit. The drive unit, output unit, and barrier element are operatively connected such that the barrier element is movable via the drive unit into a position closing and a position opening the gate region. The output unit has a hollow shaft with outer and inner shell surfaces. The inner shell surface and drive unit are configured such that the inner shell surface surrounds the drive unit in sections, preferably completely and the hollow shaft has a barrier element mount formed for fixing a barrier element on the hollow shaft. The barrier element mount is arranged on the outer shell surface and formed integrally with the hollow shaft.
PASSAGE BARRIER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A PASSAGE BARRIER
A passage barrier has first and second guide elements that cooperate to define a gate region, through which a person passes from an entrance region into a passage region. The passage barrier has a drive a drive unit. The drive has an output unit including a hollow shaft having an outer shell surface. The hollow shaft has a barrier element mount formed for fixing a plate-shaped barrier element on the hollow shaft and is formed substantially in a U-shape. The barrier element is fixed between the limbs of the barrier element mount, wherein at least two adhesive grooves are provided on the inside at the base of the barrier element mount. At least two opposing adhesive grooves are provided for receiving an adhesive on the inside on both limbs of the barrier element mount and opposing grooves are formed on the inside at distal ends of the barrier element mount.
Telescoping swing gate
A design for a universal telescoping swing gate can be sized to obscure a wide range of openings while accommodating a multitude of installation options to make the gate versatile under many conditions. The swing gate can have a frame with a pivot member rotatable about a mounting seat between an open configuration and a closed configuration. The frame can have first and second telescoping members adjustable along an extension axis between a collapsed state and a fully extended state for changing the frame length so the gate can be quickly furnished to different sized openings. The gate can be spring loaded to bias the frame to a nominally closed position to reduce the chance for human error among workers. The gate can also be sized to have the structural rigidity to comply with OSHA requirements for handrails and guardrails around a walking-working surface.
GEARING DEVICE OF A PASSAGEWAY DEVICE
A gearing device for discontinuously moving at least two elements, in particular barrier elements of a passageway device, having a drive axis, a first active axis of rotation, formed for a torque-transmitting operative connection with the first element, in particular barrier element, a first non-uniformly translating gearing stage between the drive axis and the first active axis of rotation, a second active axis of rotation formed for a torque-transmitting operative connection with the second element, in particular barrier element, a second non-uniformly translating gearing stage between the drive axis and the second active axis of rotation.
GATE HINGE ASSEMBLY
A gate hinge assembly for pivotally mounting a gate having longitudinal horizontal members and a leg frame member to a post. Each bracket assembly includes a threaded rod with a nut and washer for securing the rod to a post disposed therebetween The threaded rod including a proximate end including a sleeve mounted perpendicular to the threaded rod. A U-shaped bracket having opposing sidewalls with an open end for receiving a horizontal bar and vertical post of a gate frame includes a pair of spaced apart aligned sleeves mounting on an outside end wall of the bracket. The bracket includes a plurality of spaced apart aligned apertures for insertion of bolts for attachment to a vertical end leg and horizontal member of a gate. The rod sleeve is aligned and inserted between the bracket sleeves pivotally connecting the gate to the post.
Gate hinge pin assembly
A gate hinge for a preferably wooden post which includes an L-shaped rod threaded on one leg with a metal strap rigidly connected to the threaded leg at about one and one half inches from the elbow of the rod on the threaded leg. The metal strap extends six or so inches form each side of the L-shaped rod with two or more holes near each end of the strap. The L-shaped rod is threaded into the post until the metal strap contacts the post. Then each leg of the metal bracket is bent around the post and screws or lag bolts are threaded through the holes and into the post to help secure the hinge to the post and to provide added support for the gate.
Keyless gate latch
A keyless gate latch to selectively latch a gate to a post wherein the keyless gate latch comprises a keeper assembly including a keeper member having a keeper stop movable between a latched position and an unlatched position normally biased in the latched position and a latch assembly including an actuator lever rotatably between a latched position and an unlatched position at least partially disposed within a housing and including a latch stop such that when the latch member and the actuator lever are each in the latched position, the keeper stop and the latch stop when engaged with each other prevent the gate from being opened and when the actuator lever is rotated from the latched position to the unlatched position the actuator lever engages the latch member moving the latch member from the latched position to the unlatched position preventing the keeper stop from engaging the latch stop allowing the gate to be opened.
