Modular anti-ballistic, blast and forced entry resistant shelter system

The modular anti-ballistic shelter system includes two end units and, optionally, additional middle units for a wider structure. End and middle units may also stack atop each other for multi-story structures. Each unit is configured to comply with both ISO standards for size and weight, and with the U.S. Department of State Certification Standard for Forced Entry and Ballistic Resistance of Structural Systems. Each exterior wall of each end unit and each middle unit is reinforced with wall studs that penetrate the unit's structural framework of beams and frames. Even though these wall studs are welded into place, penetration of the wall studs into the beams and frames ensures acceptable blast, ballistic, and forced entry resistance even if the welds are flawed.

Structural barrier system

An environmental barrier composition and method for forming a structural barrier system to seal structural openings such as doors and windows is provided. The composition includes a liquid rosin that is silyl-terminated polyether, a filler material, and a curing catalyst. The method includes applying the composition to a prepared through-hole in combination with flashing material at least along a bottom surface of the through-hole and installation of a window or door into the prepared through-hole to form a barrier system in which a continuous film can be easily inspected, is waterproof, meet air barrier requirements of ASTM E2178, has elastomeric properties, allows substrate expansion, contraction, and movement, does not shrink or lose volume as it cures, and cures rapidly with sufficient adhesion to transition flashing to incorporate into a designed drainage plane and allow integration of a continuous air barrier system where the barrier is at least semi-vapor-permeable.

Devices and methods for mounting door frames

The present invention relates to a door frame, particularly a door frame for a pre-hung door assembly, which is foldable to minimize storage space and to allow for enhanced logistic efficiencies. The door frame contains parallel, spaced apart, vertical jambs and a horizontal header connecting the top ends of the jambs. Each of the jambs and the horizontal header contains a front section and back section that are hingedly joined so that then can be folded on to each other. The hingedly joined front and back sections allow the door fame to be foldable to minimize space occupied during storage.

The insulation system includes opening wall, substrate wall, thermal closure, insulation and exterior trim. A window structure can be coupled to cover opening, while other structures are contemplated. Depending on the configuration, tape strips and/or seals such as caulk seals may be employed as needed to seal the structure.

Frame assembly

Systems and methods for providing a universal window frame assembly. A window frame assembly can include a plurality of frame members, wherein at least one of the frame members comprises a first profile frame member and at least one of the other frame members comprises a second profile frame member. The at least one first profile frame member and the at least one second profile frame member seat together to form the frame assembly. Head and side jamb members of a window frame can have a common first profile, and a sill jamb member can have a second profile. The frame members can be connected with corner keys configured to engage one or more openings in the first and second profiles. The sill jamb member can provide a sill slope angle.

A door frame 1 has a frame post 3 which is secured with a rear side 5 against a reveal 7 of a wall opening 9 by means of a number of wall clamps 13. Each wall clamp 13 has two clamping parts 15, 17, each consisting of a fastening part 19, 21 and a clamping jaw 23, 25. At the rear 5, the frame post 3 is provided with a groove 27 which extends over the entire length of the frame post 3 and is present at an angle 29 of 10-50 degrees to the rear side. The fastening part 21 of the clamping part 17 partly protrudes into the groove 27 and is displaceable in and out of the groove 27 by turning screws 31 more or less in the door frame 3, which screws protrude through holes 35 present in the clamping jaw 25.
