Mechanical connector, two part connector and muntin clip for providing a frictional engagement
The present application provides a mechanical connector adapted for coupling to a mating element, as part of muntin clip or a two part connector. The mechanical connector includes a body having at least one surface adapted for engaging a reciprocal surface of the mating element, wherein the at least one surface of the body of the mechanical connector slides across and frictionally engages the reciprocal surface of the mating element across a predefined distance during the coupling and decoupling of the mechanical connector relative to the mating element. The mechanical connector further includes one or more protruding elements, coupled to the at least one surface of the body of the mechanical connector, which extend in a direction toward the reciprocal surface of the mating element during engagement of the at least one surface of the mechanical connector with the reciprocal surface of the mating element, where the protruding elements is attached to the at least one surface at a first end of the protruding element and being free at the second end of the protruding element, and where the protruding element can separately flex along the length of the protruding element toward each of multiple directions including opposite directions. When the mechanical connector engages and slides relative to the mating element, the one or more protrusions are caused to flex in a direction that is substantially opposite a direction of the movement of the mechanical connector relative to the mating element along at least a portion of the predefined distance.
Composite fenestration assembly
A composite fenestration assembly having one or more sub-assemblies including at least one glazing border constructed of a first material and a rigid overlay providing a structural framework for the glazing border while maintaining narrow sight lines and providing an architecturally pleasing exterior appearance.
Infant safety barrier
In accordance with the subject invention, an infant safety barrier is provided which includes: a first mounting body; a second mounting body; a first stanchion pivotably mounted to the first mounting body so as to be reversibly pivotable between upright and non-upright positions; a second stanchion pivotably mounted to the second mounting body so as to be reversibly pivotable between upright and non-upright positions; and, an elongated flexible barrier a first end secured to the first stanchion and a second end secured to the second stanchion, wherein, with the first and second stanchions being in the upright positions, the flexible barrier is relatively taut between the first and second stanchions. Advantageously, with the subject invention, an infant safety barrier is provided which can be reversibly adjusted between an upright safety position, to restrict an infant's fall from an elevated location, and a non-upright position, allowing access to the infant.
WINDOW ASSEMBLY
A window assembly includes a polymer (e.g., polyvinyl chloride, vinyl) window frame made and a glass unit carried by the window frame. The window frame includes a pair of jambs and an astragal that extends between and interconnects the pair of jambs. The jambs have a channel or slot sized to receive therethrough one or more end walls of the astragal so that at least a portion of said one or more end walls extend into a hollow cavity in the jambs that is in fluid communication with one or more weep holes of the window assembly. The one or more end walls of the astragal and channel or slot of the jambs define a flow path configured to channel water from the astragal, through the channel or slot in the jambs and into the hollow cavity such that said water exits the hollow cavity and the window assembly via the one or more weep holes.
Minimized gate
A barrier having a gate and a frame where each of the frame and gate is reduced in at least one of a height and length dimension so as to be shipped and stored in a box of minimal size.
Sliding door module insert assembly
A sliding door module insert assembly for selective egress of a pet and a user includes a panel and a pet door. The panel is sized so that the panel is configured to position in an orifice of a sliding door module. A slat, which is shaped substantially complementarily to a side of a frame of the sliding door module, is hingedly coupled to a first side edge of the panel. The slat is configured to insert into the frame so that the slat is frictionally coupled to the frame, positioning the panel to selectively swing relative to the frame to open and close the orifice to allow a user to enter and exit the dwelling. The pet door is coupled to the panel so that the pet door is positioned to selectively close an aperture that is positioned in the panel.
Magnetic Window Attachments
A retrofit window kit includes a plurality of magnetic sash elements configured to be positioned at one or more locations on an interior perimeter of the sash and a corresponding plurality of magnetic window grid elements each configured to magnetically couple to one of the magnetic sash elements and constructed as a clip or a cap that fits over and frictionally attaches to an exterior end of a window grid muntin.
MUNTIN ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
A clip for supporting a muntin grid, a muntin grid, and a method of assembly is disclosed herein. The clip includes coupled together lateral and longitudinal members, each supporting bosses, and first and second arms respectively. The clip for coupling to the first and second muntin bars via first and second notches in the respective muntin bars. The muntin bars are formed by pre-notching and then roll forming, wherein the bosses support the first and second muntin bars when the clip is coupling the first muntin bar to the second muntin bar.
