CONNECTING METHOD
A method of connecting hollow elongate members 12 which may be window frame members. The method comprising locating a plastics material insert 16 extending outwardly for a short distance from each hollow member 12, heating the inserts, and bringing the hollow members together such that the heated inserts 16 fuse together to connect the hollow members 12.
Fenestration unit with panel frame having corner reinforcement plug
A frame for a fenestration unit includes a corner member at a corner joint of first and second elongate frame members. The second elongate frame member includes a profile member and an elongate reinforcement beam disposed therein. The elongate reinforcement beam has a terminal end. The second elongate frame member further includes a corner reinforcement plug with an insert end that is received in the terminal end of the elongate reinforcement beam. The corner reinforcement plug also includes a corner end that is engaged with the corner member and an intermediate portion that is disposed between the insert end and the corner end. The corner reinforcement plug has a shoulder at a transition between the intermediate portion and the insert end, and the shoulder abuts against the terminal end. The intermediate portion is disposed within the interior of the profile member.
Method and Device for Welding at Least Two Profiled Sections for Window or Door Frames or Leaves
A method and a device (10) for welding at least two profiled sections (1) for window or door frames or leaves uses a heating unit (4) introduced between the profiled sections (2, 3) to be joined. At least two heating elements (5, 6) of the heating unit melt the profiled section ends (2, 3) at the end surfaces to be joined. In order to chamfer, in particular remove, a profiled section edge layer (20) of the profiled section ends (2, 3) along the layer surfaces (12, 13) thereof, at least one tool, in particular at least one cutting blade (7, 8), is arranged on the heating elements (5, 6) and is moved such that the material (9) to be melted is displaced into the profiled section interior (11) or into the interior (12) of the profiled section chambers (13). A compression device compresses the profiled section ends (2, 3).
Compound fenestration assembly mull joints and methods
Compound fenestration assembly mull joints, compound fenestration assemblies using those mull joints, and methods of making and using the same are described herein. The mull joints in compound fenestration assemblies as described herein use universal joining strips to form both sides of a mull joint, as well as other universal components such as, e.g., corner gussets, locator plates, end plugs, seal members, etc. that may be used as needed to form mull joints as required in a compound fenestration assembly.
Corner cleats with wiring passageway
A framed assembly includes a first frame member defining a first inner channel, a second frame member defining a second inner channel and positioned adjacent the first frame member at a corner joint, and a corner cleat having a first leg received within the first inner channel and terminating at a first end of the corner cleat, and a second leg received within the second inner channel and terminating at a second end of the corner cleat. A passageway is defined in the corner cleat and extends between the first and second ends. The passageway places the first inner channel in communication with the second inner channel.
FENESTRATION UNIT WITH DRAINAGE PASSAGE FROM CORNER KEY AND THROUGH CLADDING
A fenestration unit includes a frame corner key that includes a corner key fluid outlet and a cladding having an aperture for the corner key fluid outlet. The fenestration unit also includes a weep drainage system with a fluid path defined from the frame corner key, through the corner key fluid outlet, and through the aperture to drain from the fenestration unit.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR MOUNTING DOOR FRAMES
The present invention relates to a door frame, particularly a door frame for a pre-hung door assembly, which is foldable to minimize storage space and to allow for enhanced logistic efficiencies. The door frame contains parallel, spaced apart, vertical jambs and a horizontal header connecting the top ends of the jambs. Each of the jambs and the horizontal header contains a front section and back section that are hingedly joined so that then can be folded on to each other. The hingedly joined front and back sections allow the door fame to be foldable to minimize space occupied during storage.

Frame connector
A frame connector for securing a first frame member to a second frame member, the frame connector comprising a first body having a first pair of arms extending along first and second axes from a origin mitre plane to respective free ends; a second body adjacent to the first body and having a contact surface and a second pair of arms extending from the origin mitre plane to respective free ends, and an actuator secured to the first body and arranged to apply a force to the contact surface in a first direction. The first and second axes are non-colinear and define a first plane. The first direction forms an acute angle to the first plane. The actuator is arranged to displace the first body relative to the second body in the first direction.
PROFILED ELEMENT FOR DOORS/WINDOWS MADE OF PLASTIC MATERIAL, IN PARTICULAR PVC
The profiled element (1) comprises: one main portion (2) defining a holding surface (2a) for a central panel (3) of a door/window (4), the main portion (2) being adapted to form a perimeter frame (5) of the door/window (4); one retaining portion (6) which defines an abutment surface (6a) of the central panel (3) and is adapted to fasten the central panel (3) to the perimeter frame (5); and non-removable connection means (7) which connect the main portion (2) to the retaining portion (6) and are adapted to allow the movement of the retaining portion (6) between a raised configuration, wherein it frees superiorly the holding surface (2a), and a retaining configuration, wherein it faces the holding surface (2a).
