Composite fabric member and methods
09809011 · 2017-11-07 ·

A planar article in the form of a thin strip is shown. The article, comprising a fabric and a polymer, can be formed into a variety of shapes. A hollow profile made from the article by forming a seam using opposing edges of the strip to enclose a volume. A thermoplastic extrusion formed composite structural member and method for making is disclosed. In one embodiment, the composite structural member includes a first web made from a first material and a first resin, a second web made from a second material different from the first material, a third web made from a third material and a third resin, and a fourth web made from a fourth material.

Automobile door sealing member

If a sealing member is mounted to a planar sealing member-mount extending from a window frame toward outside of the cabin, separation of a terminal portion of the sealing member from the window frame is to be reduced. A fixing member made of a hard material is provided on a terminal portion of the sealing member in a front-rear direction of a vehicle. The fixing member has a body portion, an engagement portion, and a fixing target portion. The body portion is fixed to the terminal portion of the sealing member. The engagement portion holds the planar sealing member-mount in a thickness direction. The fixing target portion is fixed to a portion of the window frame remote from the planar sealing member-mount in the front-rear direction of the vehicle.

FOLDABLE DRAFT PREVENTION DEVICE

A draft protector for a double door system has a longitudinally extending body having a first portion, a second portion, and a foldable central connecting portion disposed between the first and second portion. The first portion is positioned adjacent a first door and the second portion is positioned adjacent a second door, and either the first or second portion is folded over and in parallel alignment with the first or second portion when the first or second door is in an open position.

Weather strip for vehicle

A weather strip for a vehicle includes: an exterior weather strip mounted on an exterior edge of a door frame; and an interior weather strip pivotally connected to the exterior weather strip, where the exterior weather strip includes an exterior lip portion and a core, and the core includes a tube portion having a cavity in which a portion of the interior weather strip is received.

Drainage system for a window and the like

In an extruded window frame, engineered foam patches are attached to the window frame for delivery to the job site. In combination with a sealant bead that is applied at the job site to the perimeter of the nail fin on the window frame, the foam patches serve as weep holes. Moisture reaching the interior of the rough framed opening of the building after installation of the windows is channeled between the sealant bead and the inside of the window frame. The foam patches, applied as a spaced-apart pair to the inside surface of the nail fin are in physical contact with the sealant bead to receive channeled rainwater, which can flow by gravity to the bottom of the window frame and exit the window. The foam patches block entry of insects.

Automatic water sensor window opening system

A system can automatically open at least one window of a vehicle when the vehicle is being submerged in water. The system can include a water collector and a water sensor, and when the water sensor detects water in the water collector, at least one window of the vehicle opens.

Method and device for applying adhesive-backed weatherstrip

A device for applying an adhesive-backed elongated seal (e.g., a weatherstrip seal) to a surface of a substrate. The device comprises a release liner removal tool having a stripper portion. The stripper portion comprises a spacer and a release liner guide surface. The spacer has a leading edge, an angled trailing edge, a central axis and a thickness profile that separates the adhesive on the back of the seal from the substrate surface while allowing the body of the seal to contact the substrate surface, when the stripper portion is positioned between the seal and the surface. The angled trailing edge has a transverse radius of curvature allowing the release liner to be removed from the adhesive, bent-backwards-over the trailing edge, and pulled-off along a portion of the guide surface, while the seal is adhered along its length to the surface.

Seal sections of a weather strip comprise: an upper edge section seal which is in contact with the upper edge section of a door; a side edge section seal which is in contact with a side edge section of the door; and a connecting section seal which connects the upper edge section seal to the side edge section seal. The seal sections comprise first drip channels which are capable of connecting water from the exterior of a vehicle. Second drip channels, which are capable of collecting water that flows along the vehicle exterior sides of the seal sections, are formed between the seal sections and the drip lips. A communication section, which communicates between one first drip channel and one second drip channel, is formed in the connection section seal.

Electromagnetic shield door system

A radio frequency shield door system is provided. The radio frequency shield door system provides an effective RF and electromagnetic seal between a door and the perimeter of the doorway through a continuous interface of conductive or magnetic material between peripheral sealing surface of the door and a perimeter frame of the doorway. The perimeter frame may provide spring-loaded contact rails electrically or magnetically coupled thereto so that when the door is in a closed configuration a RF seal is formed between the interfacing sealing surface and contract rails, yet the door is still readably between an open configuration and closed configuration.
