METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR A RETRACTABLE FLOODWALL SYSTEM
The present invention relates to a retractable floodwall unit that comprises a foundation unit having a plurality of guide tracks along side walls of the foundation unit, a floodwall panel stowed in the foundation unit; a power system for raising and lowering the floodwall panel, and a plumbing system. The plumbing system is configured to remove ground water from a dry-side of the floodwall unit and flood water that becomes located in the floodwall unit.
Methods of forming a temporary seal for flood protection
One illustrative method disclosed herein includes positioning a plurality of individual sections of a moldable material adjacent one another and adjacent a structure to be sealed, and forcing the individual sections against one another and at least the structure so as to deform the plurality of individual sections and thereby form a substantially contiguous temporary seal comprised of the moldable material between the structure and at least a portion of the opening in which the structure is positioned.
Flood barrier system
A flood barrier system includes vertical elements and panels extending between such vertical elements, the foregoing components having various features for inhibiting passage of flood water therethrough. One or more vertical elements may have a multi-layer base plate which forms a watertight seal with vertical gaskets disposed on the vertical elements. One of the vertical elements of the system may comprise a stanchion post which may be formed of extruded aluminum. Another vertical element which may find potential use in certain applications may be secured to a store front mullion. The panels in such system may include specially adapted gaskets to reduce instances of leakage. The vertical elements and panels allow the present flood barrier system to be flexible and readily deployable as a barrier to flood or flood risk.
FLOOD VENT HAVING A PANEL
According to one embodiment, a flood vent panel includes a first area, a second area, and a first set of one or more perforations positioned on a first side of the flood vent panel in a location in-between the first area and the second area. The perforations are configured to break when at least a predetermined amount of pressure is applied to a portion of the second area. The flood vent panel is configured to be coupled, at least indirectly, to a structure so as to at least partially block a fluid passageway through an opening in the structure. The break is configured to completely separate the second area from the first area so as to reduce an amount of blockage of the fluid passageway.
Wall Element And Assembly For Holding Back Water
A wall element for holding back water is formed in one piece and has a planar, rectangular main portion having a first side, a second side parallel to the first side, a third side perpendicular to the first side, and a fourth side parallel to the third side. A first planar bearing portion is connected to the main portion over the first side and perpendicular to the main portion. A second planar bearing portion is connected to the main portion over the second side and perpendicular to the main portion. The second bearing portion is opposite the first bearing portion. The wall element has a planar connecting portion connected to the main portion over the third side and inclined to the main portion. The connecting portion has connecting holes in the longitudinal direction, and the main portion has connecting holes along the longitudinal extent of the fourth side.
Fillable barrier bag
Apparatus and methods relating to a barrier bag are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, the barrier bag is configured for installation in a doorway and includes a receiving cell for receiving a second barrier bag. The barrier bag may include removable attachment portions for attaching it to one or more additional barrier bags.

Locking device
A locking device for a leaf pivotally mounted in a frame, the leaf having a leading face, a trailing face, a bottom edge and side edges, and being pivotally moveable relative to the frame between an open position and a closed position, the locking device comprising at least a first cam rotatable between an unlocked condition and a locked condition, the plane of rotation of the cam being perpendicular to the plane of the leaf when in the closed position, wherein in the locked condition the cam is engageable with a cam engaging surface on the leaf or the frame, engagement of the cam with the cam engaging surface preventing the leaf from moving away from the closed position.
FLOOD VENT
According to one embodiment, a flood vent includes a frame forming a fluid passageway through an opening in a structure. The flood vent further includes a door pivotally mounted to the frame in the fluid passageway for allowing a fluid to flow through the fluid passageway. The door has two opposing faces that include a first face and a second face. The flood vent further includes a first float positioned within the door in a location in-between the first face and a second float. Additionally, the first float is configured to allow the door to pivot in a first direction. The flood vent further includes the second float positioned within the door in a location in-between the second face and the first float. Furthermore, the second float is configured to allow the door to pivot in a second direction.
DOOR DEVICE
The invention provides a door device (1) adapted to provide a watertight condition against an external surface, the door device (1) comprising a main support surface (2), a main spar (10), first and second main closing elements (3, 4), first, second, third and fourth connecting elements (5, 6, 7, 8), primary guiding elements (91, 92), a transversal element (11) comprising an auxiliary closing wedge (111) and secondary guiding elements (93, 94), wherein along the movement of the main spar (10) between a first inactive position and a second watertight position, the movement of each second connecting element (6) is limited by the corresponding primary guiding element (91, 92) to the direction of said primary guiding element (91, 92), making the first and second main closing elements (3, 4) exit a main area (2a). When the main spar (10) is in the watertight position, the watertight gap is equal to the length of the watertight side of the auxiliary closing wedge (111). The invention also provides a watertight system and a method.
