A privacy system for sliding doors that that has an upper privacy assembly and side privacy assemblies for coving gaps between a sliding door and walls and/or door frames of a door opening. The upper privacy assembly has a first upper member on a door and a second upper member on a wall or frame, and the first upper member will slide with respect to the second upper member when the sliding door moves. The one or more side privacy assemblies has a first side member on the door and a second side member on the wall and/or door frame that engage and disengage. When the sliding door is in the closed position, the engagement between the first upper member and the second upper member, and the first side members and second side members, aid in restricting light from passing through gaps between the door and wall and/or frame.

An intruder resistant screen providing improved strength. The improved intruder resistant screen comprises a frame, a woven wire intruder resistant mesh covering an opening enclosed by the frame, a plurality of clamp elements engaging with frame members to hold the mesh by a leveraged clamping action and at least one fastener holding each clamping member to the frame member. Each fastener has a drilling portion, a shank portion, a head and a thread. The frame comprises multiple frame members joined by corner stakes and there are two or more clamp elements engaging each frame member.

A folding safety gate includes a pass through door, and an L-frame, the pass through door linked to the L-frame, the L-frame comprising a vertical section and a horizontal section, the pass through door hinged to the vertical section by an upper hinge and a lower hinge, the horizontal section spanning a gap from a bottom of the vertical section to an opposite side on the pass through door and configured to unlatch and fold vertically.

A gate apparatus that includes a gate, an elongate member or gate base for the ends of the gate, and a stairway post adapter such that a wooden stairway post can serve as a base for a gate without harming the wood of the stairway post. The stairway post adapter includes a vertical or longitudinally running channel for receiving the gate base, a horizontally or laterally extending channel for receiving a strap, and a recess or receptor or face for confronting a section of a stairway post. The gate base includes an upper and lower eyelet. Each of the ends of the gate includes upper and lower pins for engaging the upper and lower eyelets of the gate bases. On the hinge side of the gate, the pins are relatively long and remain in the eyelets as the gate is lifted and swung. On the latch side of the gate, the pins are relatively short such that that latch side of the gate can be lifted and disengaged from the eyelets and then swung open. The gate is extendable and retractable in length, and is reversible.

A removable obturation device is provided for transversely obstructing a passage delimited by a cylindrical side wall wherein it includes: a) a support and blocking element having a central block supporting a plurality of arms disposed perpendicularly in a radial position with respect to the longitudinal axis of the block and of the side wall, each arm having an extensible rod including a pad intended to be blocked against one the side wall, and b) at least one complementary obturation element extending in a radial transverse plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, at least partly in or opposite the space between the arms so as to prevent an individual from falling through the passage. The obstruction element is preferably removably fastened to the support and blocking element.

The present invention is directed to an apparatus and system involving the use of a panel for protecting fenestrations in buildings such as windows and doors, from damage caused by storms, tornadoes, hurricanes, riots, and the like. Embodiments of the present invention include a substrate panel attached to a security film providing increased protection against wind-driven missiles associated with high winds with decreased weight and mitigating improper installation.

A press-fit window insert configured to provide secondary protection to an existing window, having a carrier, a fin, and a fastening clip. The carrier includes a substantially rigid framework having channels within the framework configured to securely accept one or more attachments. The fin extends from the carrier and includes a substantially flexible blade extending from a base portion of the fin. The base portion of the fin is configured to interlock the fin to the carrier. The fastening clip includes a substantially rigid brim extending from a base portion of the fastening clip. The base portion of the fastening clip is configured to interlock the fastening clip to the carrier.

A comprehensive dry flood proofing solution to mitigate inland flooding risk for existing or new homes and small buildings. This family of integrated systems of the present disclosure each leverage the building's structure to offer practical and affordable flood protection for those buildings constructed with slab-on-grade foundations. This family of solutions includes pluggable weep holes, entry door/garage door/window protectors, wall appurtenances and penetration protection, house wrap and debris barrier system for wall protection and sewage anti-backflow protection. The components of the solution are reusable, easy to deploy, and do not detract from the building's permanent appearance. A gate apparatus having an automatically returning gate, an upper latch operated by an upper button, and a lower latch operated by an upper finger handle. Each of the latches must be opened to open the gate. The gate returns without the aid of a spring to a position close to the closed position or to the closed position by the structure of a pivot or hinge connection between the gate and the frame of the gate. Gate tubes are rectangular in section for their entire length. Wood panels are included in the gate and excluded from other portions of the gate apparatus to make the gate stand out to the user seeking to open the gate.
