SAFETY LADDER
20230220730 · 2023-07-13 ·

A safety ladder for mounting between a support surface and a ground surface includes two support assemblies and parallel step members pivoted between the support assemblies. Each support assembly includes first and second support rods each having upper and lower ends. The upper ends of the first support rods of the support assemblies are configured to be pivoted to the support surface. The safety ladder is movable between a use position, in which the lower ends of the first and second support rods of the support assemblies are adapted to simultaneously contact the ground surface, and a storage position, in which the first and second support rods stand substantially perpendicular relative to the ground surface.

Foldable balcony balustrade-combined fire/disaster evacuation facility

The present invention relates to a facility comprising: a fixed frame fixedly installed on an outer wall of a veranda or a balcony of a high-rise building; a foldable evacuation box which can be unfolded in the form of a rectangular parallelepiped having an open top side and has and evacuation door on a side thereof; a fall prevention and evacuation means which can be structurally changed to an emergency stairway for fire evacuation; an evacuation box locking means which allows the foldable evacuation box to be unfolded in a rectangular parallelepiped form; a locking means which holds and fixes the fall prevention and evacuation means to the fixed frame; and an entry prevention door which prevents an evacuee from entering inside a veranda or a balcony from the foldable evacuation box through the fixed frame.

TOP CAP FOR MULTI-POSITION LADDER

An multi-position ladder is disclosed that includes an adjustable top cap that provides a tool or material tool tray when the ladder is in a stepladder position and provides a step when the ladder is in an extension ladder position is disclosed. The top cap generally comprises a rigid frame extending between the adjustable hinges of the multi-position ladder with a tool or utility tray and a step surface on opposing sides. The tool tray is parallel to the ladder rungs when the ladder is in a stepladder position, and the step surface provides a generally planar surface parallel the rungs when the ladder is in an extension position. The rigid frame of the top cap adds strength to the adjustment hinge and to the multi-position ladder. Embodiments allow for 12-inch hinge spacing, adding one foot reach in the extension position and six inch reach to the stepladder.

WALKTHROUGH AND STANDOFF MECHANISMS FOR LADDERS, LADDERS INCORPORATING SAME AND RELATED METHODS

A ladder and ladder accessory are provided including an accessory that may be coupled to the ladder in multiple configurations and serve multiple purposes. In one embodiment, a pair of components are each selectively coupled with associated rails of a ladder in a first, stored state, and a second, walkthrough state. When in the walkthrough state, the components extend upwards from and above the rails so that a user may gasp the components and step between the components when transitioning from the ladder to an elevated surface (e.g., a roof) or vice versa. In another embodiment, the components may be coupled to the ladder such that they extend in a direction that is substantially transverse to a plane through which the rails extend. When in this transverse orientation, the components may be used as a stand-off device.

Modular ladder with central mast
11613928 · 2023-03-28 ·

A modular ladder having a single, central column for supporting radiating steps is shown and described. Steps are pivotally mounted on the central column to generate attachable modules. The steps fold up to a stowed position to minimize bulk when the ladder is not in use, and fold down to a nearly but not quite perpendicular position to facilitate climbing. The steps are held frictionally in the stowed position and by gravity in a deployed position when nearly perpendicular to the central mast. The ladder has a removable foot module for stability when propping the ladder on the ground. Each module bearing steps includes an integral loop for attachment of anchoring straps when desired.

STEP LADDER PIVOT AND LOCK MECHANISM
20220341262 · 2022-10-27 ·

A ladder is disclosed which has a lockable pivot arrangement. The lockable pivot arrangement is located and connected between two elongate ladder sections. Inside each pair of end housings there are at least two receptacles. A pivot mechanism connects between the end housings and the end housings rotate in unison and also allow the pair of end housings to rotate relative to the housing. A lock mechanism within the housing has at least two lock members each with an actuator and each actuator having a free end. There is an elastomeric bias element acting to bias the two lock members and respective free ends and actuators away from each other, and the two actuators when biased apart are positioned so as to allow for one-handed actuation against the bias to unlock the rotation of the housing.
