INHIBITION OF OXIDATION-SPECIFIC EPITOPES TO TREAT ISCHEMIC REPERFUSION INJURY
The disclosure provides for methods and treatments of ischemic injury, reperfusion injury, stroke and myocardial infarctions by administering within minutes to hours an antibody or antibody fragment that bind to and inhibits the biological activity of OxPL in an affected tissue.
METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR TREATING DISEASE-RELATED CACHEXIA
A method of treating disease-related cachexia comprises administering to a subject a composition comprising an anti-AGE antibody. A composition for treating disease-related cachexia comprises a first anti-AGE antibody, a second anti-AGE antibody and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The first anti-AGE antibody is different from the second anti-AGE antibody. A method of treating or preventing the onset of disease-related cachexia comprises immunizing a subject in need thereof against AGE-modified proteins or peptides of a cell.
Activity Modulator
The present invention relates to: an activity modulator which is a means for modulating the activity of CD300b-dependent phagocytosis; and medicine for the treatment or prevention of a disease or condition in which the activity is involved. The activity modulator comprises a CD300a-binding substance and modulates CD300b-dependent phagocytosis signals in a macrophage.
TANNIN AND ANTI-GLIADIN ANTIBODY COMPOSITIONS FOR TREATMENT OF A DISEASE OF THE INTESTINAL TRACT
The present invention relates to a composition for use in the treatment of an intestinal tract disorder caused by a gluten-associated protein, said composition comprising at least one agent which binds to the gluten-associated protein, characterized in that the composition is administered at the same time as or at most within 60 minutes after administration of at least one tannin to a patient.
Treatment of celiac disease, C. difficile infection, food intolerance and food allergy with secretory IgA/IgM
A process is provided for inhibiting symptoms of celiac disease, Clostridium difficile associated diseases such as Clostridium difficile colitis, pseudomembranous colitis and antibiotic associated diarrhea, food allergy or food intolerance in a subject that includes the oral administration to the subject suffering from food allergy or food intolerance an IgM. When administered in a, therapeutic quantity based on the subject characteristics and the type of IgM, symptoms of food allergy or food intolerance in that subject are inhibited. Even non-secretory forms of IgM are effective when administered orally.
Multi-drug delivery system and uses thereof
Disclosed herein is a multiple drugs delivery system and its uses in treating diseases. The multiple drugs delivery system includes, an anti-PEG antibody for directing the PEGylated therapeutic to the treatment site; and a hydrogel for retaining the anti-PEG antibody and/or the PEGylated therapeutic at the treatment site for at least 3 days. The hydrogel is selected from the group consisting of hyaluronan (HA) or a derivative of HA, collagen, gelatin, fibronectin, fibrinogen, alginate, chitosan, and a synthetic biocompatible polymer. The anti-PEG antibody and the hydrogel are present in the mixture in a ratio from about 1:1 (v/v) to 1:100 (v/v). At least two dosages of the PEGylated therapeutic, which may be the same or different, are administered to the subject, with each dosage being given at about 1 hour to about 1 week apart. Accordingly, a novel method of treating a subject having cancer or ischemia disease is also provided.
TREATING CANCER BY BLOCKING THE INTERACTION OF VISTA AND ITS BINDING PARTNER
Disclosed herein are antibodies that specifically bind to LRIG1 and methods of use thereof. In some embodiments, also described herein are methods of inducing immune activation or promoting B cell or Natural Killer cell proliferation with an antibody that specifically binds to LRIG1.
METHODS FOR PROTECTING HAIR FOLLICLES
Disclosed herein are compositions including a topical agent that may be used to reduce and/or inhibit the effects of chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy, which can include reducing and/or inhibiting the effects of hair loss and/or hair shedding due to chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy. The topical agent can be hydrogen sulfide, a hydrogen sulfide donor, or a substrate for a hydrogen sulfide producing enzyme such as sulfanegen. Some embodiments of the composition can include the topical agent combined with an agent to promote vasoconstriction or the topical agent combined with an agent to modulate deposition, mode of action, and/or metabolism of a chemotherapeutic agent and/or a reactive oxygen species agent. Embodiments can be used for improving the outcome of a hair transplant surgery by optimizing a holding solution to stabilize hair follicle grafts. In yet another embodiment, a system for realizing hydrogen sulfide slowly into a holding solution is described.
IMMUNE MOTIFS IN PRODUCTS FROM DOMESTIC ANIMALS
The present invention provides a means to prepare a product from domestic animal milk, blood or eggs which comprises an array of T-cell exposed motifs similar in identity, distribution and concentration to those found in human immunoglobulin variable regions and to prepare and apply the product as an immune modulating agent for administration either as a nutritional supplement or as a pharmaceutical product.
