Modular compaction boring machine system
A modular compaction boring device. The boring device comprises a compaction boring head which creates a borehole through a subsurface by operation of a thruster and a rear and forward anchor. Extension of the thruster while the rear anchors are engaged move the boring head forward. Retraction of the thruster while the forward anchors are engaged brings the rear anchors forward for an addition stroke. A steering geometry in the boring head and rotation of the boring head allow steering of the boring device. Steering, thrust, and anchors may be controlled remotely through an umbilical cable pulled through the borehole by the boring device.
Downhole tools and methods of controlling downhole tools
A downhole tool that has a plurality of arm assemblies. Each of the arm assemblies has an arm configured to expand and retract and an actuator. A hydraulic bus in fluid communication with the plurality of arm assemblies. A plurality of flow control devices. The flow control devices are configured to selectively isolate one or more arm assemblies of the plurality of arm assemblies from the hydraulic bus while maintaining the other arm assemblies of the plurality of arm assemblies in communication with the hydraulic bus.
Downhole force generating tool
The disclosure of this application is directed to a downhole tool comprising a central element/member and a sleeve that is rotatably and orbitally disposed around the central element/member. The sleeve rotates and orbits around the central element/member responsive to fluid flowing through the downhole too. The disclosure is also related to a method of advancing the downhole tool in a well by flowing fluid through the tool.

Roller tool
A roller tool 1 that can be connected into a string for deployment into an oil or gas well includes at least two rollers or wheels 10 located on each side of the roller tool 1, with axes of rotation that are perpendicular to the axis of the roller tool 1. The roller tool further includes at least two interconnecting tubular portions, where one tubular portion 41 comprises a mandrel 45 that connects to another tubular portion 42. An annular hub 20 is fitted over the mandrel 45 and the rollers 10 are connected onto the hub 20. The tubular portions 41, 42 comprise circumferential sleeve sections 56a, 56b that partially extend over the rollers 10 and resist detachment of the rollers 10 from the roller tool 1. The roller tool 1 can aid passage of a string through a well by holding the string away from the walls of the well and reducing frictional contact.

Well tractor
A method for operating a well tractor is presented. The method involves running a well tractor coupled to a wireline into a wellbore and supplying an amount of electric power to the well tractor to operate the well tractor at a first speed to urge the wireline through the wellbore at a first force. A variable gear ratio transmission of the well tractor is adjusted and an amount of electric power is supplied to the well tractor to operate the well tractor at a second speed different than the first speed to urge the wireline through the wellbore at a second force different than the first force based on adjusting the variable gear ratio transmission.

Post Hole Belling Auger
A belling auger includes a rotatable shaft, a main shaft extending through the rotatable shaft, a sliding sleeve mounted on the main shaft a bottom panel and a shovel rotatably attached to the rotatable shaft. Pressing the rotatable shaft down towards the sliding sleeve causes the shovel to hinge outward at the bottom of a piling hole. As the device rotates the shovel scoops dirt onto the pan, thus widening the bottom of the hole to a bell or cone shape.
