The present disclosure describes various embodiments, as well as features and aspects thereof, of an improved drill bit assembly for a percussion boring system. More specifically, one non-limiting embodiment of an improved drill bit assembly for a percussion boring system comprises a bit and a product engagement member. The bit comprises a slant faced head and at least one exhaust port. The product engagement member comprises a product coupling portion and at least one fluid restriction portion. This improved drill bit assembly is such that, when the product engagement member is detachably engaged with the slant faced head of the bit, a first portion of the fluid stream expelled from the bit is directed substantially forward of the slant faced head and a second portion of the fluid stream is directed substantially rearward from the slant faced head.

In one particular embodiment, the at least one wear insert may be positioned immediately adjacent a coupling end of the shank. The at least one wear insert may include a superabrasive table which may be bonded with a substrate. The at least one wear insert includes a wear surface defined in the superabrasive table. In one embodiment, the superabrasive table may comprise polycrystalline diamond. Similarly, the inset having a convex engagement surface may include a superabrasive material, such as polycrystalline diamond, bonded with a substrate. Such a drill bit may be used, for example, in a top hammer percussion drilling operation.

Various drill bits, drilling systems and related methods are provided. Threaded coupling for percussion drill bit
An internally threaded bit for percussion drilling is provided, which has thread roots wider than the thread crests. A single drill bit, configured according to the present invention, can be connected to a variety of rods, having differing crest widths in their male threads. The invention enables the service life of the rods to be optimized to suit the drilling conditions at hand, without the need to manufacture and keep in inventory a correspondingly large variety of drill bits. The bit of the invention exhibits a reduced rate of ringing off, and can accept drill rods having a range of crest widths.
METHOD OF CONTROLLING A DRILLING PROCESS OF A PERCUSSION DRILLING MACHINE
The drilling machine comprises a control unit and at least one sensor. The drilling machine further comprises a percussive element and a tool, wherein an end of the tool comprises a drill bit configured to strike rock. The percussive element is configured to impact the tool and the tool is configured to transfer impulse energy generated by the percussive element to the drill bit. The method during drilling comprises collecting data depending on force fed into the rock and indentation depth into the rock at an impact of the percussive element. The method further comprises determining a percussion procedure based on the collected data, and determining a deviation between the percussion procedure and a reference percussion procedure. The method further comprises adjusting one or more drilling parameters related to the drilling process based on the deviation.
METHOD OF CONTROLLING A DRILLING PROCESS OF A PERCUSSION DRILLING MACHINE
The drilling machine comprises a control unit and at least one sensor. The drilling machine further comprises a percussive element and a tool, wherein an end of the tool comprises a drill bit configured to strike rock.
