A method for creating a weep hole is disclosed. The weep hole is drilled in an uncured, concrete, hollow core structural component having one or more external surfaces and one or more internal surfaces. The weep hole is drilled using a drilling apparatus comprising a drill, a rotating drill bit with an internal fluid passageway, a power source, and a pressurized fluid source. Loose, uncured concrete material deposited near the weep hole on the one or more internal surface as a result of drilling the weep hole is removed by releasing pressurized fluid which flows from the pressurized fluid source, through the drill and the rotating drill bit.

Hand-actuated earth auger
11840892 · 2023-12-12 ·

A hand-actuated earth auger of the type used to drill water wells, for taking soil samples, or other similar purposes is disclosed. It consists of a spiral or bladed earth drill, extended with one stem rod consisting of one or more stem segments, and one tee handle mounted on a handle collar. The handle collar can be clamped at any height along the stem rod, while the tee handle can be attached to the handle collar in two configurations, resulting in two different heights of the handle. These features allow the operator to lift the auger out of the ground by doing a seated calf raise in two quick increments, corresponding to the two configurations of the tee handle. It also allows the stem rod to be assembled of fewer, but longer stem segments, thus saving on cost.

Digging apparatus

A digging apparatus (10, 300) is disclosed. The digging apparatus (10,300) includes a handle assembly (14, 14a, 314), a motor (32), a main switch (22, 322) electrically connected with the motor (32). The main switch (22,322) is movable between a first position in which operation of the motor (32) is allowed and a second position in which operation of the motor (32) is prevented, and a drilling bit (88, 88a, 388) is driven by the motor (32). The drilling bit (88, 88a, 388) has a longitudinal axis (P-P, M-M), and when the switch member (22, 322) is in the first position, the motor (32) is adapted to drive the drilling bit (88, 88a, 388) to rotate about the longitudinal axis (P-P, M-M) in a clockwise direction in response to pushing of the handle assembly (14, 14a, 314) in a direction towards the drilling bit (88, 88a, 388), and the motor (32) is adapted to drive the drilling bit (88, 88a, 388) to rotate about the longitudinal axis (P-P, M-M) in an anti-clockwise direction in response to pulling of the handle assembly (14, 14a, 314) in a direction away from the drilling bit (88, 88a, 388).
