The grease system includes a second sub-controller that receives control signals from the controller. A second frac leg is operably associated with a second wellbore. The second frac leg includes a third sub-controller that receives control signals from the controller. The first, second, and/or third sub-controllers may receive control signals from the controller via a communication bus.

Thread protector
11480287 · 2022-10-25 · ·

A thread protector for use with sucker rods and other downhole tools is pushable onto an end of the sucker rod for secure retention. The thread protector is optionally squeezed and rotated for release from the end of the sucker rod. Included on the protector is a sleeve having a closed end and an opposite open end for receiving and pushably engaging with the end of the sucker rod. The sleeve has one or more first regions around a circumference of the sleeve having reduced diameter for engagement with one or more regions of the end of the sucker rod and one or more second regions around the circumference of the sleeve having enlarged diameter. Application of pressure to the one or more second regions of the sleeve causes disengagement of the one or more first regions from the end of the sucker rod for removal of the thread protector.

Emergency disconnect isolation valve

An isolation valve system, method, and apparatus are provided that can isolate a wellbore and prevent fluids from exiting the well and prevent seawater from entering the well. The system can be a two-part design in some embodiments where a shear sub is selectively interconnected to a body via shearing screws. A sufficient force on the shear sub destroys the shearing screws and the shear sub is removed from the body. This movement rotates an actuator on the body, which in turn rotates a valve in the body to provide the isolating function during routine operation of a wellbore or during an emergency.

PROCESSING ROUTE TO DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE HIGHLY CONFIGURABLE NON-MAGNETIC DOWN-HOLE SENSOR COLLARS

Drill collars may be constructed using solid-state welding processes. Solid-state welding produces robust drill collars with high fatigue lifespans and permits individual segments of the drill collar to be optimized based on their intended use. A drill collar may be formed of a first segment with a different material, density, modulus of elasticity and/or geometry than an adjacent second segment fused thereto. If a segment of a drill collar is damaged in use, the damaged segment may be removed and replaced, possibly without de-rating the drill collar. Methods of forming the solid-state welds may include friction welding adjacent segments to one another such that features in each segment are circumferentially aligned when the weld is formed. Supplemental energy sources may provide additional heat at the welded surfaces to ensure the segments are effectively fused.

Catwalk tubular measurement and method of use

A carrier assembly for a catwalk assembly includes a carrier. The carrier assembly includes a skate to move a tubular member along the carrier. The carrier assembly includes a proximity sensor positioned to detect the end of the tubular member as it moves along the carrier. The carrier assembly includes a skate position sensor. The length of the tubular member may be determined by measuring the position of the skate relative to the proximity sensor when the end of the tubular member passes the proximity sensor.

System and method for conditioning a downhole tool

A wellbore tool is conditioned between downhole deployments with a substantially continuous application of a conditioning fluid within the tool. Selectively removable caps connect to ends of the tool after its removal from the wellbore. If the tool is part of a downhole string, the caps are added after the tool is decoupled from the remainder of the string. The conditioning fluid is introduced into the tool through a fitting on one of the end caps; and while a fitting on the other end cap is opened to vent fluids resident within the tool. The caps are in sealing contact with a housing of the tool to retain the conditioning fluid inside the tool. A fluid supply system at the well site provides the conditioning fluid. Example conditioning fluids include a fracturing fluid, a completion fluid, a diluent, a solubilizing agent, an anti-scaling agent, a pH buffer, a liquid freezing point depressant, corrosion and oxidation inhibitors, oxygen scavengers, biocides, surfactants, and combinations thereof.

Shaped charge assembly, explosive units, and methods for selectively expanding wall of a tubular

A shaped charge assembly for selectively expanding a wall of a tubular includes first and second explosive units that are each symmetrical about an axis of revolution. Each explosive unit includes an explosive material that is liner-less. The first and second explosive units comprise a predetermined amount of explosive sufficient to expand, without puncturing, at least a portion of the wall of the tubular into a protrusion extending outward into an annulus adjacent the wall of the tubular.

HYDRAULIC FRACTURING PLAN AND EXECUTION OF SAME

A hydraulic fracturing plan executable by a hydraulic fracturing system to hydraulically fracture a plurality of oil and gas wells.

IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM FOR TUBULARS

A method is disclosed that includes measuring an inner diameter (ID) of a tubular at least at a plurality of points along an inner circumference of the tubular, at a predetermined axial distance from an end of the tubular, to yield a first set of measurements. A computer processor is used to: create a tubular profile from the first set of measurements, wherein the tubular profile represents a unique identification code of the tubular; save the profile; and thereafter identify the tubular. The tubular is identified via: receiving a second set of measurements of the ID of the tubular from at least at a plurality of points along an inner circumference of the tubular, at the predetermined axial distance from the end of the tubular; and comparing the second set of measurements with the saved tubular profile to identify the tubular.
