INTEGRATED COLLAR SENSOR FOR MEASURING HEALTH OF A DOWNHOLE TOOL
Aspects of the subject technology relate to a sensor for a downhole tool. The downhole tool can include a collar and a sensor. The sensor can be secured to the collar for measuring one or more operational characteristics of the downhole tool during operation of the downhole tool. The sensor can include a substrate. The sensor can also include a plurality of strain gauges disposed on the substrate. The plurality of strain gauges can be configured to measure axial strains and torsional strains on the collar for measuring the one or more operational characteristics of the downhole tool.
REDUCED DIFFERENTIAL STICKING DRILLING COLLAR
Systems and methods for drilling a subterranean well include a reduced differential sticking drilling collar. The reduced differential sticking drilling collar is an elongated tubular member having a minimum outer diameter at an uphole end and at a downhole end. A collar body is located between the uphole end and the downhole end. The collar body has a cross section of alternating lobes and troughs. The collar body has a maximum outer diameter that is larger than the minimum outer diameter. A taper section extends from the minimum outer diameter to the maximum outer diameter. The lobes of the collar body wind along an entire axial length of the collar body in a spiral pattern.

WELLSITE HARDFACING WITH PARTICLE DISTRIBUTION AND METHOD OF USING SAME
A chromium-free, distributed hardfacing disposable on a surface of a wellsite component is disclosed. The hardfacing includes a metal filler (e.g., nickel) and particles distributed about the filler. The particles include pellets made of tungsten carbide and pieces made of angular molybdenum carbide. The pieces are smaller than the pellets for distribution in the filler between the pellets whereby a uniform distribution of particles is provided about the filler.

Downhole measurement assembly, tool and method
A downhole measurement assembly, tool, and method is provided. The downhole measurement assembly includes at least one drill collar 220 having at least one compensation portion and at least one force portion with a load path 239 therethrough. The compensation portion has a different dimension from the force portion. The assembly also includes a plurality of compensation sensors 230.1, 230.2 positionable about the compensation portion to measure downhole tool pressures applied thereto, and a plurality of force sensors 230.3, 230.4 positionable about the force portion to measure downhole forces applied thereto. The compensation sensors and the force sensors are positionable about the drill collar(s) 220 in a strain configuration along the load path 239 whereby the measured downhole tool pressure is isolatable from the measured downhole forces on the drill collar(s).
