Wireline drilling system

A wireline drilling system for the hydrocarbon exploration and production industry incorporating a drilling cuttings removal system which acts to remove and store cuttings displaced by a drill bit during drilling operations. The cuttings removal system may employ a screw member having a tapered lower portion and a narrow upper portion to transport drilling cuttings to a cuttings basket and distribute the cuttings therein. Embodiments of the invention include an integral tractor to progress the wireline drilling system and provide weight-on-bit, as well as assist in retrieval of the wireline drilling system if the tool should become stuck.

Drill string components having multiple-thread joints

Drill string components having at least two threads extending around a body. The leading end of each thread can have a configuration having increased strength and resistance to jamming and cross-threading. In particular, the leading end of each thread can comprise a planar surface normal to the body. The leading end of each thread can provide an abrupt transition to full thread depth that helps reduce or eliminate cross-threading and can be oriented at an angle relative to the axis of the drill string component. Each thread can further provide at least one of a variable thread width and a variable thread pitch configured to create an axial progressive fit. Each thread can also provide a cylindrical thread root and a thread crest that circumscribes a frusta-cone over at least a portion of the axial length of the threads configured to create a radial progressive fit.

Downhole force generating tool

The disclosure of this application is directed to a downhole tool comprising a central element/member and a sleeve that is rotatably and orbitally disposed around the central element/member. The sleeve rotates and orbits around the central element/member responsive to fluid flowing through the downhole too. The disclosure is also related to a method of advancing the downhole tool in a well by flowing fluid through the tool.

Systems, methods and apparatus for stabilizing a downhole tool and fluid flow

A centralizer for stabilizing fluid flow through a hollow shaft has a body with an axis, an outer surface and a circumference. Fins extend from the outer surface and include a first pair of fins that are axially aligned with each other and circumferentially spaced from each other. A second pair of fins are axially spaced a first distance from the first pair of fins. The second pair of fins are axially aligned with each other and circumferentially spaced from each other. The first and second pairs of fins are circumferentially offset from each other.

Some examples of the present disclosure relate to a method for washing an annulus that at least partially surrounds a casing in a well. The method comprises locating a tool inside a wellbore casing, and flowing a washing fluid from an injection aperture on the tool and into the annulus via a first casing aperture in the casing. An inflow region of the casing is created having a reduced pressure relative to the annulus, and the method involves flowing the washing fluid from the annulus and into the inflow region of the casing through a second casing aperture in the casing.
