Determining Dominant Scenarios for Slowing Down Trip Speeds
A trip speed table is created containing records. Each record contains a step location, wherein a step is defined to be the location in a well of a deepest end of a drill string, a minimum trip speed for the step location, wherein the minimum trip speed is defined to be the maximum trip speed less than or equal to a default trip speed at which the drill string can be tripped without exceeding a fracture gradient or falling below a pore pressure at a slice depth, and the slice depth where the minimum trip speed for the step location occurred.
CABLE DRAWWORKS FOR A DRILLING RIG
A cable drawworks for a drilling rig is provided having a tubular cable reel with an electric motor placed within the cable reel, and a speed reducing unit coupling the motor to the cable reel. The speed reducing unit can include a cycloidal gear mechanism or a ring gear mechanism. The drawworks can include an air pathway passing through the motor and the cable reel for cooling or for heating in cold weather applications.
Method and Apparatus for Automated Connection of a Fluid Conduit
A connection assembly for automated lifting and positioning of a chiksan or other fluid conduit in proximity to a fluid inlet of a device such as, for example, a cement or hydraulic fracturing head. Once a chiksan or other flow line is positioned in a desired location, a secure connection is made between the outlet of the chiksan or other fluid conduit and the fluid inlet including, without limitation, when the device is positioned at an elevated location above a rig floor.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR COILING A CONTINUOUS ROD
A coupling for use with a continuous rod and a reel, and a method of using the coupling to coil a continuous rod on the reel. The coupling includes a threaded box portion for threadedly connecting with an uphole pin end of the continuous rod. The coupling includes a connector for securing the coupling to the reel. Once secured to the reel by the coupling, the continuous rod can be coiled around the reel by rotation of the reel. In an example application, the connector may include a ring for securing the coupling to an outside guide pin of a collapsible service reel.
PIPE DEPLOYMENT TRAILER
A trailer is provided having a trailer base and a trailer bed mounted to the trailer base. The trailer includes at least one actuator coupled to the trailer bed and the trailer base that raises and lowers the trailer bed. When the at least one actuator is extended, the trailer bed is raised to a vertical orientation. When the at least one actuator is retracted, the trailer bed is in the horizontal orientation. The trailer includes a lifting head protruding outwardly from the trailer bed. The position of the lifting head is adjustable along a longitudinal axis of the trailer bed.
MACHINE AND METHOD FOR EARTH-WORKING
A machine and a method for earth-working with a machine, having a mast, along which a top drive can be moved vertically by an adjusting device, through which top drive a telescopic kelly bar is displaceably guided, which has at least one outer kelly bar, which is designed to come to lie on the top drive, and one inner kelly bar, which comprises a rope suspension for a rope, through which the inner kelly bar is moved vertically by a rope winch. The adjusting device for the top drive and/or the main rope winch for the kelly bar is/are automatically controlled, wherein the inner kelly bar is moved relative to the top drive in some areas in a rapid travel mode at a first speed and in some areas in a conservative travel mode, in which the speed is reduced in comparison with the first speed.
WIRELINE SHEAVE DEVICE AND METHOD OF USE
Devices for use with wireline sheaves are provided that allow for capturing grease freed from a wireline as it passes around an upper sheave during wireline retraction from a wellbore. Once the freed grease is captured, it is reapplied to the wireline as it passes from the upper sheave to the lower sheave where the grease may be captured for disposal.
Pipe spooling deployment equipment systems and methods
Techniques for implementing and/or operating a system that includes a pipe drum, which has a drum shaft and a drum body that enables a pipe segment to be spooled on the pipe drum, and pipe deployment equipment. The pipe deployment equipment includes a brake disc, which has a shaft socket that is keyed to matingly interlock with the drum shaft to facilitate tying rotation of the pipe drum with rotation of the brake disc, and a spooling assembly that includes a motor shaft, in which the spooling assembly ties rotation of the motor shaft with the rotation of the brake disc to enable the pipe deployment equipment to actively rotate the brake disc in a first direction to facilitate spooling the pipe segment off of the pipe drum, to actively rotate the brake disc in a second direction to facilitate spooling the pipe segment onto the pipe drum, or both.
Drilling system and method of submarine drilling rig
The present invention discloses a drilling system and method of a submarine drilling rig, relating to the technical field of drilling equipment. The system includes a barge, an umbilical cable, a submarine device and a drilling device; where the barge is loaded with a pneumatic-electric-hydraulic control device and a mud treatment device which are respectively connected to the submarine device through the umbilical cable; and the submarine device includes a submarine traveling device, a coiled tubing roller, a derrick, a centralized valve seat, a drill bit replacement device, a wellhead device and a casing rack. The centralized valve seat is connected to the umbilical cable for shunting mud, cement and electrical signals conveyed by the umbilical cable. The derrick is installed above the wellhead device, respectively matched with the drill bit replacement device and the casing rack for replacing drill bits and conveying and withdrawing casings. The drilling device is connected to the coiled tubing for performing drilling operations. The present invention has the advantages of low cost, high drilling and production efficiency and high safety.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR REPLACING CABLE OR WIRE IN A HOISTING SYSTEM
A method for replacing a length of a wire/cable in a hoisting system. The wire/cable extends from a storage drum to a winch. The method includes removing at least one lock which prevents a deadline anchor arranged between the storage drum and the winch from rotating, reeling onto the storage drum a first length of the wire/cable with a simultaneous coordinated operation of the deadline anchor and the storage drum, the simultaneous coordinated operation being controlled so that the wire/cable is in a continuous tension between the deadline anchor and the storage drum, securing the wire/cable to an attachment point, cutting a section of the wire/cable between the attachment point and the winch and removing the cut section of the wire/cable, reattaching the wire/cable remaining to the winch, reeling out a second length of the wire/cable from the storage drum, and securing the wire/cable to the deadline anchor.
