A deployment device for deploying a downhole tool in a well includes a body shaped to host an internal chamber, first and second inserts having complementary shapes and configured to be placed inside the internal chamber thereby defining an internal through passage for part of the downhole tool, and first and second levers rotatably attached to the body and configured to press the first and second inserts further inside the internal chamber.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SECURING A FLOW CONTROL DEVICE AGAINST A PIPE

A system for securing at least one flow control device, FCDs, to a pipe used for producing hydrocarbons from a subterranean reservoir comprises a strap provided over the pipe and over the at least one flow control device.

ROD JACK APPARATUS

The present invention is a rod jack apparatus with four vertical legs that form a framework and first and second lower brackets connected to the vertical legs. Two hydraulic cylinders extend upwardly from the lower brackets, pass through a first horizontal plate, and are connected to a second horizontal plate. A primary clamping mechanism is situated on top of each of the two horizontal plates, and a secondary clamping mechanism is attached to the underside of each horizontal plate. The apparatus is configured to receive a polished rod, and the primary and secondary clamping mechanisms are configured to grip the polished rod when activated. The sucker rod assembly is lifted out of the well when the first and second hydraulic cylinders are extended. The invention includes a method of using the apparatus described herein.

Attachment device for marine riser buoyancy module

An attachment device for securing a buoyancy module to a riser, the attachment device comprising an annular collar which is split into at least two parts, and at least one flange part, which is separable from the collar and has a generally planar flange and a connecting formation by means of which the flange part may be releasably connected to the collar so that the flange extends radially outwardly relative to the collar.

Tool trap system

A tool trap system includes a housing defining a bore, a shaft coupled to the housing, and a flapper and an actuation system coupled to the shaft. The flapper selectively obstructs the bore through the housing. The actuation system includes a lever coupled to and configured to rotate the shaft, a cylinder configured to contact the lever, a hydraulic cylinder, and a piston rod extending through the cylinder and the hydraulic cylinder. The cylinder is configured to move axially along a longitudinal axis of the cylinder to rotate the lever. In response to manual actuation of the tool trap system, the hydraulic cylinder remains in place as the cylinder moves axially. In response to powered actuation of the tool trap system, a fluid pumped into the hydraulic cylinder axially moves the hydraulic cylinder, and the piston rod remains in place as the cylinder moves axially.

Cable protector assemblies and related methods and systems

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to cable protector assemblies, and related methods and systems. In one or more implementations, a cable protector assembly includes an adjustable latch. In one embodiment, which can be combined with other embodiments, a cable protector assembly includes a protective frame at least partially defining a channel. The channel is configured to at least partially receive a cable. The protective frame includes a frame flange having a section of a frame sheet formed into a first arcuate shape to define a frame opening. The cable protector assembly includes a collar segment pivotably coupled to the protective frame. The collar segment is pivotable between a disengaged position, an engaged position, and a biased position. The collar segment includes a collar flange having a section of a collar sheet formed into a second arcuate shape to define a collar opening.

Method and system for anchoring downhole communications paths

An anchoring assembly for securing a cable having both an optical fiber and an electrical conductor in order to provide a conductive pathway to a downhole tool. The anchoring assembly has a head and tail each having a throughbore with anchor receiving portions. An anchor with a deformable portion maybe inserted into the anchor receiving portions and the head and tail drawn together about the anchor. The anchor receiving portions have a narrowing diameter, which, upon abutment with the anchor causes the deformable portion of the anchor to deflect inward and secure a cable inserted therein. A conductive body is provided in the head or tail for coupling with the cable and providing a conductive pathway to a downhole tool.
