MODULAR PIPE LOADER ASSEMBLY
A horizontal directional drilling machine having a modular pipe loader system. The system comprises a first and second pipe loader assembly supported on a drill frame. Each assembly supports a shuttle arm. The shuttle arms are configured to move independently of one another along a shuttle path that is traverse to a longitudinal axis of the drill frame. Movement of each shuttle arm is powered by an actuator supported on each pipe loader assembly. Each pipe loader assembly includes a sensor used to measure parameters related to the position of each shuttle arm relative to the drill frame. A controller analyzes the measured parameters and directs operation of each actuator in order to keep the shuttle arms moving in unison during operation.
System and method for disassembling drill assemblies
A system for disassembling a drill assembly including a drill bit and one or more columns interlinked with each other. The system includes a first clamping mechanism adapted to engage one of the drill bit or a first column, and a second clamping mechanism adapted to engage a second column disposed successively to the drill bit or the first column. The second clamping mechanism is turned relative to the first clamping mechanism to at least partially delink the second column from the first column or the drill bit. The system further includes a first actuator adapted to move one of the first clamping mechanism or the second clamping mechanism relative to the other to define a gap therebetween to reveal an interface between the second column and the drill bit or the first column for delinking the second column relative to the drill bit or the first column.
System and method for disassembling drill assemblies
A system for disassembling a drill assembly including a drill bit and one or more columns interlinked with each other. The system includes a first clamping mechanism adapted to engage one of the drill bit or a first column, and a second clamping mechanism adapted to engage a second column disposed successively to the drill bit or the first column. The second clamping mechanism is turned relative to the first clamping mechanism to at least partially delink the second column from the first column or the drill bit. The system further includes a first actuator adapted to move one of the first clamping mechanism or the second clamping mechanism relative to the other to define a gap therebetween to reveal an interface between the second column and the drill bit or the first column for delinking the second column relative to the drill bit or the first column.
System and method for conducting subterranean operations
A tubular handling system for conducting subterranean operations is disclosed and can include a first tubular handling system and a second tubular handling system. The first tubular handling system can include a bridge disposed within a tubular storage area, an arm pivotally coupled to the bridge, and a gripper coupled to the arm and adapted to engage with a tubular in the tubular storage area. The second tubular handling system can include a support structure, a first tubular handler coupled to the support structure, and a second tubular handler coupled to the support structure and distinct from the first tubular handling system.

A stand-building system and method for a drilling rig, of which the system includes a casing preparation skid configured to prepare a casing joint for connection to another casing joint, and a casing stand assembly skid configured to receive the prepared casing joint and to connect together the prepared casing joint with one or more other joints so as to form a casing stand. The casing preparing skid and the casing stand assembly skid are horizontally aligned with and extend parallel to one another and to a catwalk of the drilling rig, and the casing stand assembly skid is configured to deliver the casing stand to the catwalk.

The system includes a drill bit storage device arranged to hold a plurality of drill bits, a gripping arm for selective gripping of a drill bit. The gripping arm may further comprise a movement sensor, arranged to monitor movement of the gripping arm, and the system may further comprise a control unit. The control unit being arranged to receive input from the sensors and the drilling rig, and to control movement of the gripping arm, the gripping means, the drill bit storage device, and the breaker device of the drilling rig.

A drilling calibration method, apparatus, device and medium based on image recognition includes lifting a top drive to a position of a derrick, and receiving and recognizing a target image acquired by an image acquisition apparatus of an operating terminal; calculating a quantity of pixels from the top drive to a rotary table surface in the target image by a data processing unit of the operating terminal; and receiving a height of the top drive measured by a diastimeter by the operating terminal. The height of the top drive is a height from the top drive to the rotary table surface. A pixel relationship table may be established between the quantity of the pixels from the top drive to the rotary table surface and the height of the top drive by a calibration unit of the operating terminal to finish drilling calibration. The pixel relationship table may be determined between the quantity of the pixels from the top drive to the rotary table surface and the height of the top drive by an image recognition technique to finish calibration of drilling, so that influence of a drilling environment to drilling calibration may be reduced greatly.

A handling device for handling drill string components with respect to a rock drill rig including a rotator device supported on a feed beam and arranged to rotate and drive a drill string component. A gripper grips drill string components.
