Manifold for hydraulic fracturing blender and other applications

A modular fluid-carrying manifold apparatus is provided for use in hydraulic fracturing blenders and other devices. A manifold can include one or more interchangeable sections. Each section may have a flat front face with ports cut into the front face. Components such as valves and hammer unions are directly removably connected to the ports via bolts. This eliminates the need for welded-on piping. Removable, wear-resistant inserts can be located in the ports. The removable components may be considered consumable and replaced when worn out.

DOUBLE-LAYER COILED TUBING DOUBLE-GRADIENT DRILLING SYSTEM

A double-layer coiled tubing double-gradient drilling system, on the basis of conventional drilling equipment, includes a double-layer coiled tubing system, spacer fluid, a downhole lifting pump system, throttling control systems and a data monitoring system. Power fluid enters an annular space of the tubing through an adapter, passes through a downhole lifting pump, enters an inner pipe through a bridge channel, and enters the bottom hole through the drill bit. Return fluid enters an annular channel of the tubing through a recovery hole, then enters the inner pipe through the bridge channel and enters the lifting pump, and then enters a solid control system through the adapter and the control systems in sequence. Gradient control of the bottom hole pressure is realized through monitoring of the spacer fluid and control of the drilling pump unit and throttling control systems. The problem of narrow safe drilling density window is solved.

A multi-impeller passive-rotating-stirring-type rotary drilling rig for open caissons includes a hollow main drill pipe, a drill bit, four cutting edges, four impeller shafts, four passive impellers and a rotation bracket. Through being uniformly distributed at a peripheral of the drilling rig, four passive impellers contact with a hole wall of a borehole during the drilling process for passively generating relative rotation opposite to the rotation direction of the drill bit, so as to accelerate sufficient mixing of silt and water for forming mud during the drilling process, thus enhancing the stirring effect of the drill bit on the mud. The present invention is able to improve the mud discharge efficiency without adding additional power, thus avoiding the blockage of the mud suction pipe and blockage or even breakage of the drill bit due to poor mud discharge during the drilling process.

Kelly Valve

A kelly valve for placement in a tubular drillstring has an inner cage, which holds a valve ball, lower valve ball seat and other valve components. A valve stem connected to the valve ball extends through a valve stem sleeve, positioned in an opening in the wall of the main body of the kelly valve. A thrust bearing of a low friction material, preferably of polyether ether ketone (PEEK), is positioned between the valve stem and the valve stem sleeve. A port in the valve ball seat permits pressure below the kelly valve to bypass a seal and act on the inside of the valve ball. A circumferential notch in the valve ball seat accommodates a circular spring, and prevents complete compression of the spring when the valve ball seat contacts an interior shoulder in the inner cage.
