This invention relates to a tractor for use in a wellbore, an apparatus for use in the tractor and related methods. In one embodiment the apparatus has a body, a drive wheel and a movable arm for supporting drive wheel. The arm may be rotatably movable using an actuator such that the drive wheel can be extracted from the body and brought into engagement with a wall of the wellbore, and may be arranged to be offset from a central region of the apparatus for providing accommodation space for the actuator in the body.

A rotary actuator assembly can include a fluid motor with a rotor that displaces with hypocyclic precessional motion within a stator in response to fluid flow through the fluid motor, and a gear reducer section including an input gear that is fixed relative to the rotor and displaces with the hypocyclic precessional motion relative to an output gear. Another rotary actuator assembly can include a fluid motor with a rotor having a central longitudinal axis that rotates about a central longitudinal axis of a stator, and a gear reducer section including an input gear that rotates with the rotor and displaces relative to an output gear, and the input gear having the same central longitudinal axis as the rotor. A well system can include at least two fluid motors, and fluid flow through one fluid motor causes rotation of the other fluid motor in the well.

The flow paths couple with each other at the opposite end portion. A collection chamber is in the first flow path for collecting debris during operation. A progressive cavity pump with hollow rotors is placed inside the housing at a predefined distance from the free-end portion being configured for operating on the first flow path while the hollow rotor forms part of the second flow path.
