Extensible Transition Joint For Control Line Protection

Systems and methods of the present disclosure relate to protecting a control line as it passes through a junction in a downhole environment. An ETJ deployment tool (ETJDT) comprises a tool body comprising a central bore; at least one first component and at least one second component, each component operable to extend and retract laterally from the tool body, wherein the at least one second component is disposed at an axial distance from the at least one first component along the tool body; a member disposed within the central bore and operable to move forward upon receiving fluid; and a spring disposed axially between a portion of the member and the at least one second component.

CROWN PLUG SECUREMENT SYSTEM

A crown plug for a tree of an oil/gas well/wellhead has a securement arrangement for securing the crown plug within the tree. The main body of the crown plug comprises a solid body creating the barrier within the production bore. The solid body creates a robust, strong and reliable barrier. The crown plug is retained within the outer member through inward distortion which secures the crown plug. The securement arrangement arises from an inward radial force that distorts the outer member inwardly to grip a component located within the outer member. The outer member elastically deforms and the outer member returns to a released position once the clamping force is released. Two concentric oppositely arranged tapered surfaces move axially to create the inwardly directed force. The clamping force and the solid body together provide an improved crown plug which is easy and reliable to operate.

Self-orienting selective lockable assembly to regulate subsurface depth and positioning

A well tool to be oriented and secured in a wellbore without the external application of torque, and a well system incorporating the same. After installation of orientation casing and universal latch coupling casing, the self-orienting selective lockable latch well tool is run downhole to the target depth, picked up to free the internal locking mechanism, and then loaded with downhole stress to engage the locking mechanism.

METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR GAINING REENTRY BELOW ABANDONED PACKERS

A reentry guide tool includes an overshot defining a lower end and comprises a bowl and grapple. The bowl defines an interior space of the overshot, and the grapple is disposed in the bowl and is operable to engage a tubular. A tubular guide nipple has a downhole and an uphole end, the downhole end complementary to the overshot and the uphole end complementary to the reentry guide. The guide nipple is operable to connect and provide a transition between the overshot and reentry guide. The reentry guide is a tubular piece having an uphole end with a bevel. A deployment mechanism is defined on the overshot, reentry guide, or guide nipple, and is operable to connect the reentry guide to a running tool for deployment. A method of providing a transition from a first to a second tubular in a wellbore is also provided.

Oil Field Tool Latch System and Method
20230160273 · 2023-05-25 · ·

The present disclosure provides a latch system that is activated internally after installation in a tubular member and requires no external penetration through a wall of the tubular member. The latch system and the tool on which it is installed includes an energizing ring and a lock ring resting on a portion of the tool, where the energizing ring can be pressed toward the lock ring to expand the lock ring radially outward and lock into an internal lock groove in a bore of the tubular member. A self-locking mechanism using corresponding profiles in the components can, with the lock ring expansion, longitudinally lock the energizing ring with the lock ring and lock the energizing ring with the tubular member. The dual locking of the three components locks or otherwise restrains the components together, so that the tool is fixed in a longitudinal position relative to the tubular member.
