Tumbler ring ledge and plug system
A tumbler ring apparatus, method, and system for deployment in a subterranean well at a setting location. The tumbler ring may have a generally oval shape with a major axis and a minor axis. The major axis defining a major diameter of the ring and the minor axis defining a minor diameter of the ring. The major diameter of the ring being larger than the inner diameter of the subterranean well at the setting location, and the minor diameter of the ring being smaller than the inner diameter of the subterranean well at the setting location. The ring is further configured to substantially deform to the inner circumference of the subterranean well at the setting location when tumbled by reducing the major diameter of the ring to cause the ring to generally take the shape of the inner circumference of the subterranean well.
OPTIMIZED ADHESIVE THICKNESS FOR METAL-TO-ELASTOMER BONDING IN OILFIELD MUD MOTOR AND PUMP STATORS
A downhole motor or pump assembly that includes a housing that includes a metal. A stator that includes an elastomer compound with an uncured plasticizer is secured and sealed within the housing using an adhesive system that includes an adhesive and a dried film thickness of 2.5 mil to 7 mil. The assembly also includes a rotor rotatable within the stator. The motor or pump is operable by rotation of the rotor within the stator. In the case of a motor assembly, the motor assembly may be part of a drilling assembly that includes a drillstring and a drill bit to drill a borehole.
OPTIMIZED ADHESIVE THICKNESS FOR METAL-TO-ELASTOMER BONDING IN OILFIELD MUD MOTOR AND PUMP STATORS
A downhole motor or pump assembly that includes a housing that includes a metal. A stator that includes an elastomer compound with an uncured plasticizer is secured and sealed within the housing using an adhesive system that includes an adhesive and a dried film thickness of 2.5 mil to 7 mil. The assembly also includes a rotor rotatable within the stator. The motor or pump is operable by rotation of the rotor within the stator. In the case of a motor assembly, the motor assembly may be part of a drilling assembly that includes a drillstring and a drill bit to drill a borehole.
INTEGRAL BELLOWS FOR OILFIELD EQUIPMENT
A bellows assembly for a downhole tool includes a first seal ring, a second seal ring, and a bellows positioned at least partially between the first and second seal rings. The first seal ring, the second seal ring, and the bellows are integral with one another such that the bellows assembly is monolithic. The bellows is configured to expand and retract. The bellows is annular and has a diameter that varies over a length of the bellows. A material composition of the bellows varies over the length of the bellows.
INTEGRAL BELLOWS FOR OILFIELD EQUIPMENT
A bellows assembly for a downhole tool includes a first seal ring, a second seal ring, and a bellows positioned at least partially between the first and second seal rings. The first seal ring, the second seal ring, and the bellows are integral with one another such that the bellows assembly is monolithic. The bellows is configured to expand and retract. The bellows is annular and has a diameter that varies over a length of the bellows. A material composition of the bellows varies over the length of the bellows.
TANDEM SEAL ADAPTER WITH INTEGRATED TRACER MATERIAL
A tandem seal adapter for a perforating gun assembly includes a housing having a first end adapted to be connected to a first perforating gun and a second end adapted to be connected to a second perforating gun. A port extends through a wall of the housing and is in communication with an interior of the first perforating gun. A tracer material is arranged in the port, and a retainer secures the tracer material in the port. Upon detonation of the first perforating gun, the retainer is displaced and the tracer material is expelled from the port by gas pressure produced by the detonation. A corresponding method of using a tandem seal adapter to disperse tracer material into a wellbore and a tool string employing such a tandem seal adapter are also provided.
