Rod pump having a hydraulic cylinder and a variable speed reversible motor-generator
A system for energy recovery from a rod pump includes a reversible hydraulic pump; a variable speed reversible motor-generator connected to the reversible hydraulic pump; and a variable speed drive that operates the motor-generator to rotate the reversible hydraulic pump in a forward direction to pump hydraulic fluid to the rod pump during an upstroke, and to operate the motor-generator in a generator mode in which a weight of a rod string lowers a piston in the rod pump during a downstroke to pump hydraulic fluid to rotate the hydraulic pump in reverse such that the motor-generator generates electricity, and the variable speed drive modulates a speed of the motor-generator during the downstroke to modulate a speed of the reversible hydraulic pump to control a rate of flow of hydraulic fluid through the reversible hydraulic pump and thereby modulate a rate of downward motion of the rod string.
Multiple system ports using a time delay valve
A multi-functional well completion apparatus and method of operation thereof that offers the ability, in a single trip and with limited running tool manipulation, to perform downhole completion operations, such as gravel pack operations or sand control frac or other fluid stimulation operations is described. The well completion tool has multiple functions or operational positions by using a self-closing time delay valve without the need of service tools, thereby saving rig time, reducing operating costs and operational risks associated with tripping service tools into and out of a wellbore.
Tapered multistage plunger lift with bypass sleeve
A multistage plunger lift system includes an upper production tubing segment positioned in a wellbore uphole of a lower production tubing segment, with the upper segment having a greater diameter than the lower segment. A lower travelling plunger and an upper traveling plunger are sized and configured to fit and travel within the lower segment and the upper segment, respectively. A plunger lift tool is positioned in the upper segment between the upper plunger and the lower plunger, and includes within its main body a fluid passageway with a one-way valve. A plunger receptacle sleeve at the bottom end of the lift tool receives the lower plunger and includes one or more vents configured to allow fluids to flow around the lower plunger when the lower plunger is received within the plunger receptacle sleeve.

ACTIVELY CONTROLLED BAILER
A container device for transporting and releasing a plugging material into a well includes a longitudinal chamber for containing the plugging material, the chamber including a tubular wall extending in a longitudinal direction and at least one opening for releasing the plugging material from the chamber; a lower seal extending across the opening and closing the chamber in a closed configuration; a pressure application mechanism provided at an upper portion of the container device for pressurising at least part of the device and expelling the plugging material; and a connector provided at an upper portion of the container device for attaching the container device to an elongate member for lowering into a wellbore.

APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR INDICATING A POSITION OF VALVE OF WELLSITE EQUIPMENT
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to an apparatus, a system, and a method for detecting and indicating the operational position of a valve of wellsite equipment. The apparatus comprises a mount portion and a housing portion. The mount is operatively coupled to a non-moving part of the valve and the housing portion is configured to receive a sensor therewithin. The sensor is configured to detect the position of a moving part of the valve and to provide an output signal indicative of the position of the moving part of the valve. The position of the moving part of the valve is indicative of the operational position of the valve. The system comprises one or more such apparatus for detecting and indicating the operational position of one or more valves on a wellsite or well pad.

EXPANDABLE LINER AND METHOD FOR RUNNING THE SAME
An expandable liner and a method for running the same are provided. The expandable liner includes a base pipe, wherein the base pipe is provided with a passage extending through an axial direction of the base pipe, a connection structure disposed at both ends of the base pipe, and screen openings on a wall of the base pipe; a porous expandable layer is fixedly attached to an exterior of the base pipe and made of a non-memory foamed and compressible material. The expandable liner and the method, by adopting a non-memory porous expandable layer, realize a sand-control performance and a wellbore-supporting capability of a prior art technology where memory materials are used, which significantly reduces costs in manufacturing, operating and running.
