Overpressure protection apparatus

An overpressure control apparatus is used to control jets of high-pressure fracking fluid or other stimulation fluid released from a treatment flowline in cases of overpressure. The apparatus includes a collection tank and one or more valves, which can all be mounted on or integrated to a skid. The sizes and weights of the collection tank and the skid may help to keep the apparatus on the ground during an overpressure event. The apparatus can be provided with an offline testing system that allows an operator to close off the communication between the apparatus and the treatment flowline, and instead, pump a clean fluid such as water at high-pressure to test the proper functioning of the valve.

A system and methods for automated well annuli integrity alerts are provided. An exemplary method provides evaluating a wellhead tubing pressure, a plurality of annuli pressures, a choke valve value, and flowrate at a well surface of a well in real-time. An automated alert is generated in response to the wellhead tubing pressure, a plurality of annuli pressures, a choke valve value, and flowrate satisfying at least one condition. A user is advised of at least one well action to resolve the automated alert, wherein the advising is interactive messaging that provides well actions to resolve the automated alert.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MANAGING VALVES IN AN OIL AND GAS WELL

A method may include determining, using a user credential, that a user associated with a user device is authorized to operate a predetermined valve at a well. The method may further include obtaining, from the user device, a request to operate the predetermined valve. The method may further include determining that no users are located within a predetermined valve area proximate the predetermined valve using image data. The image data may be obtained from a camera device in the predetermined valve area. The method may further include determining that no obstacles are present inside the predetermined valve area based on well operation data. The method may further include transmitting a command to a control system coupled to the predetermined valve, where the command causes the control system to operate the predetermined valve.

Gopher Trap

A perforated filtration insert includes a head unit and a body portion having perforated side walls. The body portion is closed at one end by a cap such that fluid entering the body exits through the perforations in the side walls of the insert.

INTELLIGENT POWERSLIP AND POWER LOCK SYSTEM FOR RUNNING AND RETRIEVING TUBULARS FROM A WELLBORE
20230074177 · 2023-03-09 ·

Systems and methods include a computer-implemented method for the operation of an intelligent powerslip including interfacing with a powerlock system. Measurements from multiple sensors are monitored using an interface between a powerlock and a powerslip of a well. The measurements measure weights, pressures, and temperatures corresponding to use of the powerslip and a grappling device during operation of the well. The measurements from the multiple sensors are compared to pre-determined tolerances to verify that an appropriate engagement exists between the tubular, powerlock and the powerslip. In response to verifying the appropriate engagement and logic, either one of the grappling device or the powerslip can be released depending on the ongoing operation.

Wellbore mud pit safety system

A fluid pit safety system is disclosed to prevent drowning incidents in a fluid pit filled with a fluid. The system comprises a plurality of sensors spatially disposed adjacent the fluid pit, a perimeter detection sub-system defining a perimeter arranged around an edge of the fluid pit, and a rescue device arranged in the fluid pit. The plurality of sensors are configured to detect a change in fluid height in the fluid pit. The perimeter detection sub-system is configured to detect a disruption in the perimeter. The rescue device is configured to move towards a surface of the fluid in the fluid pit in response to the plurality of sensors detecting the change in the fluid height in the fluid pit and the perimeter detection sub-system detecting the disruption in the perimeter.

A downhole packer assembly includes a body part, an expandable tubular packer element surrounding the body part, and a first end and a second end of the expandable tubular packer element are fixedly connected with the body part, providing an expandable space fillable with liquid during expansion, and a metal sleeve surrounding the expandable tubular packer element. A restriction unit has an axially movable part movable between a first axial position in which the axially movable part at least partly overlaps the expandable tubular packer element and a second axial position in which the axially movable part has been axially displaced in relation to the body part away from the expandable tubular packer element.

RIG ACTIVITY MANAGEMENT
20230104068 · 2023-04-06 ·

A method for conducting an operation that can include conducting an activity at a rig site, determining an expected characteristic of an individual performing a task within a red zone, wherein the red zone comprises one or more zones at the rig site, using one or more sensors to monitor the individual within the red zone while performing the task, determining, via a rig controller, an actual characteristic of the individual performing the task within the red zone based on sensor data from the one or more sensors, and comparing the actual characteristic to the expected characteristic to determine an individual risk score.

SUB-SURFACE SAFETY VALVE (SSSV) ADVISORY SYSTEM-AUTONOMOUS SSSV TROUBLESHOOTING DEVICE

A sub-surface safety valve (SSSV) advisory system is disclosed. The SSSV advisory system includes a memory and a computer processor connected to the memory and that generates at least one control signal to perform an open and close sequence for testing a SSSV in a well environment, measures, during the open and close sequence of the SSSV, an open and close sequence signature of the SSSV, compares the measured open and close sequence signature to a normal open and close sequence signature of the SSSV to generate a comparison result, and generates, based on the comparison result, an integrity measure of the SSSV.

PISTON ASSEMBLY TO REDUCE ANNULAR PRESSURE BUILDUP
20170370153 · 2017-12-28 ·

A system for preventing annular pressure buildup comprising: a wellbore; two or more annuli located within the wellbore; a piston assembly located adjacent to a wellhead of the wellbore; and a pipe system that connects the two or more annuli in parallel to the piston assembly, wherein when the amount of pressure in the pipe system exceeds a predetermined amount, then a piston of the piston assembly moves whereby the movement reduces the amount of pressure in the two or more annuli.
