DRILLING RIG
A system comprising a drilling rig having a rig floor, a derrick, a master control computer system and at least one camera, the at least one camera capturing a master image of at least a portion of the rig floor, sending the master image to the master control computer, the master control computer system mapping said master image into a model to facilitate control of items on said drilling rig.
WELL CASING SECURITY DEVICE
A well casing security device and method. The security device includes a cover including a sidewall, a top, one or more stabilizers, and a means for attaching the cover to a well casing or to its concrete slab to render it vandal-resistant. A locking support ring is provided for attachment to either the well casing or to the concrete slab surrounding the casing. The locking support ring includes a ring body with a plurality of braces. Each of the braces includes an arm defining a slot between the arm and the ring body. The cover includes a plurality of brackets enabling rotational engagement cover with the locking support ring. Locking means are provided on the cover to lock the cover to the locking support ring. The locking means includes a key operated lock that is tamper resistant and insures that the well casing cannot be accessed easily by an intruder.
Safety signals
A subsea system comprises a multiplicity of subsea installations (M-1 . . . M-n) and a common transmission line (2a) in an umbilical for the conveyance of power or data communication electrical signals to the subsea installations. The system provides on the common transmission line a plurality of safety signals (T-1 . . . T-n) in the form of tones separate in frequency from each other and the other signals on the line. Each subsea installation is arranged to receive from the common transmission line selectively a respective one of the safety signals for the control of a fail-safe device (9) in the installation.
Systems and methods for alert and advisory broadcast
Methods, radios, components thereof, and other terminals for broadcasting alert and advisory. A radio signal at a current radio frequency is obtained. The current radio signal comprises a plurality of identifiers, numbers, and commands that collectively represent an advisory signal. Each receiving terminal in the plurality of receiving terminals corresponds to a portion of the broadcast area. The current radio signal is compared with a predetermined group number, a terminal number, and a physical address. Each receiving terminal in the plurality of reference receiving terminals is associated with a group number, a terminal number, and a physical address. When the comparing identifies a unique match between the current radio signal and a reference receiving terminal in the plurality of reference receiving terminals, the advisory signal is deemed to be targeted to the physical address associated with the receiving terminal.
WELL COMPLETION SYSTEM AND METHOD, DRILLED WELL EXPLOITATION METHOD, USE OF SAME IN THE EXPLOITATION/EXTRACTION OF DRILLED WELLS, PACKAGING CAPSULE, TELESCOPIC JOINT, VALVE AND INSULATION METHOD, AND VALVE ACTUATION SYSTEM, SELECTION VALVE AND USE OF SAME, CONNECTOR AND ELECTROHYDRAULIC EXPANSION JOINT
The present invention describes a completion system for drilled wells having valves mechanisms, drives, sensors and devices able to promote an exploration of wells, safer, more efficient and, therefore, more economically viable. Specifically, the present invention comprises a system allowing the installation of smart completion in single or multiple producing zones, comprising valves mechanisms, drives, sensors, between other devices disclosed by the present invention. The present invention is in the fields of petroleum engineering and mechanic engineering.
Downhole control device
A downhole control device is configured to activate downhole equipment requiring control signals. The device having a housing adapted to protect electronic components; a transducer configured to measure one or more of pressure and temperature; an accelerometer; and control circuitry in communication with the transducer and the accelerometer and configured to control the operation of a downhole tool depending on data from one or more of the transducer and accelerometer. The transducer, the accelerometer and at least part of the control circuitry are mounted on a chassis that is removably inserted within the housing.
Alarm Systems and Methods for Preventing Improper Lifting of Tubular Members
Systems and methods for preventing improper lifting of tubular members are described, in which sensing devices are used to detect when a tubular reaches a selected position within a lifting device suitable for engagement, and/or to detect when a lifting operation is initiated that would exceed the capacity of a lifting device. Operators are engaged with the tubular member and provided with a preselected force corresponding to the weight of one or more tubular members, such that when the weight of a lifting operation exceeds the preselected force, an audible device may be actuated responsive to sensor output, to immediately alert individuals, such that the improper lifting operation may be halted. Similarly, an audible device may be actuated responsive to sensor output when a tubular member reaches a selected position within the lifting device, such that additional movement may be ceased.
LANDING STRING RETAINER SYSTEM
A retainer system, device and method are provided for retaining a severed pipe string such as a landing string suspended from a rig of a floating vessel or platform during a failure of a primary or secondary heave compensation system and prevent the severed pipe string from flying over the rig floor. The retainer system includes a retainer device including a housing mounted to a platform or vessel, the housing defining a through bore for receiving a pipe string suspended from the platform or vessel. A safety sleeve extends through the housing. A stop arrangement is mountable on the pipe string, to permit engagement between the safety sleeve and the stop arrangement in order to limit relative movement between the housing and the pipe string in order to retain a severed pipe string in an emergency situation.
WEAK LINK ARRANGEMENT AND A METHOD COMPRISES A WEAK LINK ARRANGEMENT
A weak link arrangement (1) designed for location on an umbilical (6, 7) extending on the seabed between respective structures potentially subjected to environmental hazards, like being snapped by an iceberg, which umbilical includes communicating fluid pipes and electric cables, is described. The weak link arrangement (1) includes a seabed frame (2) supporting an umbilical having a weak link multiconnecting structure (3) (UTA) installed in line, which weak link multiconnecting structure (3) (UTA) ensures continuous communication through the fluid pipes and electric cables until emergency disconnection takes place. Such disconnection is initiated by accidental pull in the umbilical, which pull activates disconnecting means and cable severing means.
Safety protection apparatus for personnel on oil drilling derricks
A safety apparatus for personnel on an oil drilling rig includes a cylindrical quick disconnect switch having a receptacle and a plunger. The receptacle has an open circuit pair of electrical wires. The plunger is configured to attach to a derrick man. The plunger and the receptacle are configured to mate when the plunger is inserted into the receptacle and to remain frictionally mated until pulled apart. The mating results in closing the circuit between the pair of electrical wires.
