METHOD FOR DETERMINING SECONDARY RESERVOIR FORMATION BOUNDARIES AND COMBINED EXTRACTION OF MULTIPLE ASYMMETRIC MINING COALBED METHANE
Disclosed is a method for identifying secondary reservoir formation boundaries and combined extraction of multiple asymmetric mining coalbed methane. This method fully combines the displacement transfer mechanism after multiple mining to determine its influence on a horizontal thrust of overlying strata after a first mining, and then determines evolution characteristics of pressure arches. Combining the identification of different types of pressure arches with a layout of a surface well accurately determines a secondary reservoir formation range of coalbed methane. By adopting the method of mining face overlying strata in series for combined extraction, coalbed methane from multiple mine faces is extracted by one well to greatly improve the coalbed methane extraction effect.

Process for enhancing biogenic methane production from a carbonaceous material using a nutrient composition with low nitrogen/high phosphorus concentrations
A nutrient composition for enhancing biogenic methane production from a carbonaceous material is described. The nutrient composition comprises a source of phosphorus (P) and a source of nitrogen (N), wherein the molar ratio of phosphorus to nitrogen (P/N) is greater than 1.5, and the nitrogen concentration is at least 0.1 m M and less than 1.7 m M. A process for enhancing biogenic methane production from a carbonaceous material is also described. The process involves contacting the nutrient composition of the invention with the carbonaceous material for a period of time to biogenically produce methane and subsequently collecting methane from the carbonaceous material. The process may further comprise contacting the carbonaceous material with a second nutrient composition, wherein the second nutrient composition has a P/N molar ratio greater than the P/N molar ratio of the former nutrient composition.
Hybrid Power Generation System Combines Renewable Energy With Direct-Air-Capture (DAC)
A method, system and computer-readable medium where an integrator application identifies an excess energy condition based on a supply load of electricity exceeding a consumptive load. The integrator application directs an air scrubber to utilize the excess electricity to remove carbon dioxide from the ambient air and routes the carbon dioxide to an enhanced coal bed methane well where methane is displaced by the carbon dioxide. In response to identifying an energy deficient condition based on the consumptive load exceeding the supply load, the integrator application routes the methane to a gas power plant and directs the gas power plant to convent the methane to electricity.
Method For Hydraulic Communication with Target Well from Relief Well
A system and method for establishing hydraulic communication between a relief well and a target well, wherein the relief well intersects with the target well at an intersection point and the relief well includes a distal portion of the relief well that is deviated and intersects the first wellbore from below the intersection point. A directional drilling system and a magnetic ranging system may be used to guide the relief well from a kick-off point to the intersection point. The deviation angle between the two intersecting wells is at least 45 degrees, but may be approximately 90 degrees or obtuse. A deviated portion of the relief well includes a J-shaped or U-shaped trajectory, thus allowing the wellhead of the relief well to be located at a site removed from the wellhead of the target well, but still intersect the target well at a shallow true vertical depth.
CHEMICAL AMENDMENTS FOR THE STIMULATION OF BIOGENIC GAS GENERATION IN DEPOSITS OF CARBONACEOUS MATERIAL
Methods of stimulating biogenic production of a metabolic product with enhanced hydrogen content are described. The methods may include accessing a consortium of microorganisms in a geologic formation that includes a carbonaceous material. They may also include providing hydrogen and one or more phosphorous compounds to the microorganisms. The combination of the hydrogen and phosphorous compounds stimulates the consortium to metabolize the carbonaceous material into the metabolic product with enhanced hydrogen content. Also, methods of stimulating biogenic production of a metabolic product with enhanced hydrogen content by providing a carboxylate compound, such as acetate, to a consortium of microorganisms is described. The carboxylate compound stimulates the consortium to metabolize carbonaceous material in the formation into the metabolic product with enhanced hydrogen content.
